So far, this panel has impressed me with good output and an amazingly lightweight and thin form factor. The only issue I had is when I inadvertently placed the panel on something that was not level. When I returned the panel's backing material (seemingly plastic) had softened to the degree it allowed the panels to bow. They are now warped and no longer store perfectly flat, which was a good portion of the reason I bought them. I reversed the arrangement in an attempt to unwarp them but that did not fully correct the issue. So, great panel but beware using it when it's not evenly supported. Something a bit more temperature robust would have been preferable to use in the construction of something that's black and made to use in the sun. This is unfortunate but I'm adjusting the way I use the panel to avoid such issues. ... show more

I use this panel to re-charge two 105 Ah deep cycle SLA batteries that I use at night for my telescope astrophotography system. It does a phenomenal job of recharging these batteries (of course I don't use the full 210 Ah of both batteries), but if you have sunshine it fully recharges my batteries each day. Recently went on a trip to a very remote area, and I was the only person there with enough electricity to run all of my instruments because of this panel. The panel does warp (doesn't stay flat), but you fix that by laying it down flat somewhere for a while to get it flattened out again. This device also isn't suited for just leaving outside in the rain. The suitcase and covering material is a hard denim type material, and would degrade if left in the rain for extended periods. ... show more

    • Perfect solar panel inside my van during COVID-19!

Wow. I'm living van life in NYC during COVID-19. I use this panel inside my Ford Transit Connect. The panel fits perfectly on my dash. The stands are amazing. More importantly, thus unit is pulling solar energy even on cloudy, rainy days! I am using my little 300watt Rockpal box. I'm able to have juice for my MaxxAir van. I'm a content provider for NYC public access TV. So I can charge my batteries for my camera, use my MAC Book Pro, and my external drives. This panel is literally saving my sanity as I self quaritine through this crisis. Well packed when the unit arrived. I have even connected this to my Goal Zero Yeti 1000. Thank you Twelseavan for a great unit. Very well designed. Update May 24th 2020: I have placed the solar panel outside my car windshield. The unit is pulling in at a peak of 60 watts today. I would predict it can pull more as it is partly cloudy today in NYC. Very pleased with the performance. This is powering my Rockpal unit a d my Goal Zero Yeti 1000. I use this now for clients' vehicles that I up-fit with solar power in combination with the Victron solar charge controllers and the BlueSea ML-ACR charging relay. My city gets sun an average of 206 days a year. At full sun, this panel puts out a steady 14.1V and peaks at 18V. Some relays have a max-volt cut off of 16V so be sure you know that value when installing. The panel itself fits nicely behind a seat and is no more that 1/2" thick when folded up. ... show more

UPDATE: So apparently the only way I can get a replacement MC4 cable is to return the whole package. That's a lot more hassle than it's worth. I'll just order a cable. Lowering my rating to 1 star. Right now it's tough finding solar related products because supply chains are broken and everything is selling out fast. I had never heard of TWELSEAVAN but decided to take a chance on the 100w foldable panels since the specs met what I'm looking for and the reviews seems mostly positive. I'm not a solar noob and have other panels to compare. Pros: I love how these are just a 2 panel set versus a 3 or 4 panel setup. That makes folding up for setup/take down very quick. Size/Weight. The weight is a huge reason I went with foldable. I've got glass "suitcase" panels that come in at 30 lbs each. Not exactly the most portable. These TWELSEAVAN weigh next to nothing. They're also thin enough to fit easily under my seats in the van on top of my under seat storage bins. Ports and adapters. The TWELSEAVAN offers plenty of charging ports for a variety of devices. For the most part, I don't care about that. I mainly use panels to charge Lithium battery/power stations and charge or power devices from those. The included adapters probably cover 99% of the devices out there. Cons: The mc4 to dc cable was faulty right out of the box. I tested the cable on 3 different foldable solar panels and tested other mc4 cables on the TWELSEAVAN. The mc4 cable is also pretty thin so don't be expecting to use it along with mc4 extension cables without losing some output. The kickstand angle is pretty sharp. I'd rather have the angle be shallower because you can still adjust a shallow kickstand angle to be sharper but you can't do the opposite. Output. I only have one lithium battery that shows input wattage and that's my Jackery 240. The 240 hooked up to 3 different 100w panels was pulling in between 60 and 70 watts at noon in ideal conditions. 65-70% of rated capacity is what you should expect from solar panels. The TWELSEAVAN was only pulling in between 35-40 watts. That is pretty piss poor. If these were rated 60-70 watts and pulling 35-40 then no big deal and typically the price would reflect the lower rating. But I paid for 100w rated panels and I expect to get a comparable output to similarly rated panels. Shipping was fast and these were well packaged so kudos there. Conclusion: For the money I'm disappointed. The actual output is unacceptably low for 100w rated panels. The faulty mc4 cable is unacceptable as well but luckily I have a few extras. I'll probably keep these because I've already paid for them and panel prices keep going up and that's if they're even in stock. ... show more
