I purchase this USB adapter to transfer storage from my Firestick to a memory stick. after the installation of booth parts, the majority of my downloads were transferred to the memory stick instead of going to the firestick.     • Add storage to your Firestick
As others have commented this little gizmo is the perfect solution to adding more storage to your Amazon Firestick. There is a great tutorial on YouTube from Troypoint on how to accomplish this task. It's not as simple as plug and play. 1st, you will need a USB drive which is easy enuf. 2nd, you will be typing in various code to get it up and running...all explained very well in that tutorial. Took about half hour w/ the longest part being factory resetting the Firestick. Now, when I sideload Apps they go straight to that partition on the USB drive and not the stick itself. You can also format the USB to a partition that will save movies and TV shows if you choose (requires a file manager app). All made possible with this handy little $7 cable. What can I say? It is a piece of wire. It was not expensive. It works well. What does it do??????? WELL, it connects in seconds, now you can insert a USB thumb drive or even a portable hard drive into the USB port. This will allows me to, bye using my FireTVstick, to select download from any app I choose to use. Now the movie or, TV series gets stored on the attached storage device. This saves plugging up the firestick very tiny amount of on board memory. Now I can simply plug the USB STICK into any smart tv, ANYWHERE and enjoy a movie with no firestick present. BONUS.....ZERO BUFFERING using this method. Before you ask. Use ES FILE EXPLORER TO FIND THE FILE. look under movies ... show more

    • A little buggy, maybe it's the fire stick?
Works with the fire stick although can be a little buggy. I used it a few times but eventually went to a different type of interface to watch movies off of USB stick. Maybe it was the fire stick itself that made this a little buggy? It did work but, I think I would actually recommend something else and did buy something else to watch movies off of USB stick. ... show more
