  • Worked Perfectly!
I did NOT expect this to work this well. I expected SOMETHING to give me a problem. I was waiting for it. When it paired with my 360 guitars so quickly I was shocked. Finally, something that has to do with electronics went right. THEN I was expecting some input lag. Nope. None. At this point I'm laughing. Do yourself a favor - if you already have a guitar from 360 and you want to get Rock Band 4, don't buy the new guitar too. If your guitar is in good condition and you are familiar with the way your guitar feels, then just get the Legacy Adapter. ... show more

  • So far so good
Purchased this a few weeks ago. Have used it a handful of times with no problems yet. It's basically plug n' play. Took less time to get my guitar (RB2 sunburst Strat) synced up with my XB1 than it did getting my new Guitar Hero Live guitar synced/working. Once you are synced, you are good to go whenever you turn your guitar on in the future. As other reviews have mentioned, it seems a bit flimsy and not worth $25 in that sense. But I got a brand new copy of Rock Band 4 elsewhere for about $20 and with the adapter for $25, I was rocking out on XB1 for just a touch over $45. Not bad. ... show more

  • Wait for updated and fixed version!
I bought this item on October 9th right around when Rock Band 4 came out, and I've only used the product about 4 times. The problem with this product was that my USB port, for some reason stopped working. I looked into the problem and for some reason the port entrance was loose and the adapter would only turn on and start blinking if i moved the USB wire at a certain angle. I looked at the other 1 Star ratings on this product and it seems like this issue is occurring to other people as well. I'm not even sure if i still qualify for a warranty exchange but i would to advise people who are thinking about buying this product to wait until they update and fix this issue. Very disappointed because i love Rock Band and i was excited to get back to using my old instruments. ... show more

  • This is such a great item!
Works just as described! We have a couple sets of modded Rock Band 3 drum kits which were converted to mesh heads instead of the clunky plastic heads. Since we were not sure if the mesh heads would snap in to the new kit and did not want to pay the price for a new kit without knowing, this was a great option. We have not had any issues connecting 3 legacy controllers at a time. We cannot tell any difference between the reaction of the controllers connected through the adapter and the ones that connect directly to the Xbox One. If you have old instruments, this is a must have item! ... show more

  • Limited profile support
The adapter "works"... but with conditions. The Good: If your friends/family all use your profile, you're good to go. The adapter feels flimsy and is overpriced but it works. Check the MadCatz site for compatibility for your legacy instruments. The Bad: You can only use one profile for instruments playing through the legacy adapter. What is that a big deal? My friends and I play this game socially. If you have friends/family that don't live under your roof that want to join in using their own profiles they can't. This means they can't track their own progress, get their own achievements, unlock their own stuff, customize their own rock star (as limited as RB4 supports), or play their personal music libraries. You can get two profiles signed in if one of the players is doing vocals (because its using the XB1 controller/USB and bypasses the hub) but if that person wants to play guitar instead of sing, you're out of luck. This has been confirmed by Harmonix (I finally got the e-mail from support today). The recommended workaround is, of course, to buy all new instruments or new songs. My group has tricked out instruments and solid wood guitars from the RB3 that we don't want to give up (the promises of this adapter is what got us to buy in). Harmonix blames Microsoft for the limitation, but honestly - this is something that can be addressed through software (the adapter can discretely determine which instrument is on which channel - it should be able to support connecting the instrument to a profile). If we had known this before launch, we wouldn't have made the purchase. That will teach me to pre-order games I guess. ... show more

  • Great, cost effective way to move to the new game from your 360
This adapter works great for connecting my old 360 Fender Bass controller to my Xbox One. It's not perfect, however - it often has issues with signing into RB4 as a player, where if another player joins after you are connected, you get kicked out and can't sign back in. The solution is easy, you just go back to the Xbox One home menu, close RB4 and restart it with all the controllers already connected, but it's still annoying and happens every time - hence the -1 star. Even with the annoyance, it DOES work and is a way to bring in controllers you already have to the new game - including ones that there aren't replacements for like the bass and pro drums. Even if you don't have one of the specialty controllers and want to save money on the game by using the standard old wireless drums and guitars, this is a great option, and saves you hundreds of dollars vs buying the new controllers. ... show more

  • Still working
This is a long time coming I bought this years back and it is still kicking. My only complaint is once you plug the mini usb B in DO NOT TAKE IT OUT you can damage the internals of the device.

  • Still doesn't function with 360 series wireless microphones
UPDATED: 12-14 upgraded from 1 to 3 stars. The latest patch from harmonix fixes some of the older guitar sync issues and seem to make this legacy adapter more reliable. However, it still does not recognize either of the 2 wireless mics I have from my xbox 360, despite them appearing on the compatibility list. -------------------------------- currently, it's useless. I have supported guitars and microphones, but they simply don't communicate with the system. the guitars pair up, show connected to adapter, but no buttons work. The wireless microphone doesn't even pair, and I was hoping for that the most, to fix the lag issue with the vocals. they rushed this game to beat guitar hero, and boy does it show. glitchy. bring on the patches. ... show more
