It’s not too big, just big enough to sit next to my bed where I can charge my phone and ear buds, and leave my glasses when I’m sleeping. My cat likes to steal my glasses when I leave them on my night stand so that little cubby in this thing is perfect. It is made from a decent partial board type material but it’s very sturdy. The screws run through it keeping it strong. If you are considering buying it, go for it. It’s very handy to have for just about everyone especially a student since it can fit in a small space. I got this for my daughter to use as a bedside table. The way the bedroom is set up in her apartment there was not room for a regular sized nightstand. She wanted a table that she could place her phone and tablet on for charging. The table plugs into the wall outlet behind the bed and the usb chargers work with her Apple products. This was perfect fit for space and purpose. My husband assembled it with no issues, all pieces and screws were in the box.
