  • Solid Quality
I. Love. This. I had a Turtle Beach headset for my PS3 but when I upgraded to a PS4 I could no longer use them. Since Turtle Beach have a tendency to be rather pricey I started purchasing off brand headsets to just get by. Overall I purchased 4 headsets that were between $20-$30 and they all had their flaws that were not acceptable. I additionally have a rather small head and it is very difficult to find a headset that doesn't actually cover my jaw when on the smallest size. I waited for a long time to finally take the plunge and get another Turtle Beach headset. I came across the Recon 200 because it was "on sale." Still rather pricey, but honestly very much worth it. This headset can easily be used for the XBox One or the PS4(Pro). There is a switch on the side of the headset that can be flipped up for PS4 option, middle for off, and down for XBox One option. The headset does need to charge, but I haven't experienced a moment where it ran out of juice while I was playing. I typically play 4-5 hours at a time (I have a hard time stopping once I start, RDRII though amirite?) and usually just charge my headset after a couple times playing. I just put my PS4 into sleep mode to charge my headset if I am not watching something and it charges just fine. It is crucial to remember to switch the headset OFF when not in use otherwise the battery will continue to drain. Pros: - It fits my small head (I do not know the max size so I cannot speak on that) - The sound quality is outstanding There are many games that I haven't gotten the full sound effects developers have put into the game because TVs and some headsets just don't pick up or full express the sounds. Mosquitoes, bird calls, shouts in a distance, footsteps; this headset picks them all up. - Comfortable Like I said earlier, I play usually 4-5 hours and do not get tired of wearing them. - Good quality Mic I especially like the flip up to mute option - One of the more light weight headsets Cons: - The Mic, while good, picks up pretty much everything; from distance background sounds to my cat purring while in my lap. - Not noise canceling or blocking or isolation, or anything like that. The only blocking it is has simply that there is something covering the ears themselves. Additionally, the mic plays back through the headset. This means any background noise the mic picks up is played right into the headset. DISCLOSURE: I haven't messed with the system settings so this could might be able to be fixed by some adjustments. - Price Honestly, it's isn't that bad of a price for someone really into getting the full experience of a game. It's completely worth the money. ... show more

  • Good for beginner/medium gaming
Review as of 4/15/2020 quarantine life. If you play video games casually like only a few times per week, then these are going to be great for you because you get good value for $60. I used to game a lot, took a break for a few years, and now I'm getting back into it. This felt like a great starter set and they have worked absolutely perfectly since Dec 2019. I'll probably hang onto these as a backup set but I'm currently researching for what my upgrade should be (the paradox of choice). Pros: -so easy to setup that I forgot how I did it -good sound, but it feels like my friends can hear things that I can't -pretty comfortable (IMO any headset gets annoying to wear after a couple hours) -mic is 1 solid piece so it doesn't start slumping after a couple months -mic quality is good, friends have no issues with how I sound, and easily retractable. this type of mic setup is my favorite Cons: -they've starting to make squeaky noises whenever I move them around on my head or pick them up/set them down -if you get into the "serious" side of gaming then you will feel behind the curve with these (personal experience) -I hate where the power button is. Since this is compatible with xbox and ps4 (I did not purchase it for that reason) the power button has 3 settings. Down is for xbox, Up is for ps4, and OFF is in the middle. Very easy to accidentally push it into xbox/ps4 instead of off, resulting in a dead battery when you're excited to play the next day. I'm generally very good about keeping things charged (my phone never dies) but dammit all to hell I can't remember to charge these to save my life. I blame this on my old turtle beach's because they did not require any charging at all. Overall: great for casual players, won't be enough if you're searching for more. ... show more

  • Good budget headphones. Can hear directional sounds to get the enemy!
Dislike that charging port is cheap and barely works. Made cheaply.

  • Amazing
These are fantastic. Great quality. The sound comes in great and has a pretty good adjustable range. And the combination of mic sound in the headphones was really helpful.

  • Please read this before buying!
I would have given it a 4-star and I wanted to only give it a two-star it works good I love the way the headphones bids this is one of my favorite brands of headphones... I got this because my $100 wireless headphone broke and I just needed something quick and easy and cheap... But if I'm going to buy a cord headphone to plug into the controller ... I really would appreciate the fact that I shouldn't have to charge this headphone just to use it! It really is inconvenient that not only do I have to deal with a cord that I have to plug into the controller Lord knows that's the reason I got a wireless because I hated that but now I have to also deal with two cords coming out of my headset because when it dies I can't hear anything out of it even if it's plugged into my controller... So it's very inconvenient very upsetting and I really hated but it's the only headphones I can afford for right now I'd advise if you really hate having to charge your phone while it's being plugged into the controller do not buy these because then you're dealing with two wires coming out of your headset. Also I don't understand why it has a switch for a PS4 and a switch for an Xbox because when I have it switched on PS4 it's still works for the Xbox I thought that was funny so that's which is there for nothing it's completely pointless and one thing I don't like about the headphones is I literally can hear myself echo through my own headphones..... and I don't know if anybody else has liked me but I hate the sound of my voice typically people think my voice is cute but every time I hear my voice I think I sound like a squeaker toy so having to hear my voice every time I'm talking to my guildmates in a party is highly irritating. ... show more
