I have to say first off that the unit as listed is great for its intended purpose and thus my 5 star rating. I only caution potential buyers that I obviously received a used and returned unit. The box was crushed in many places, the bulbs were loose in the box and one bulb was missing. I wasn't much concerned with the bulbs as I ordered the unit to use with bubble lights and not the imitation candle flame bulbs it came with. As to those bulbs though: they are impressive and do a relatively good job imitating the randomness of a real flame. They are no where near as bright as a candle would be so keep this in mind. I can see how they would look wonderful in a window, however. The unit itself is relatively unimpressive. Cheap off-white plastic. The base is wide enough, however, to sit on an average-sized window sill without fear of it falling over. The base is roughly 1.75 inches deep (4.45cm) at its deepest. The cord is roughly 4 ft long (1.22 meters) and has a 1A fuse in the plug. It also comes with an additional replacement fuse. Each candle base will fit C7 or C9 bulbs so you can do like I did and use bulbs of a style different from what comes with the unit if you so desire. Overall a good multipurpose unit. The lights look very nice from the outside and show up well on my window sills. I was very disappointed in the packaging, however. They were shipped in a plastic bag, rather than a sturdy box and two of the bulbs were broken off in their sockets. Everything about this is pathetic. NO 'on' or 'off' switch? I had to put one on myself! The cord was so short that I had to also add an extension cord. The one it came with did not even reach the wall socket from the top of my bookcase. Pretty bad. Lights are orange and are only for affect. If you are looking for this to light up anything, forget it. I'll keep it until I can find something like I had.
