Description

True Tupelo honey — one of the rarest honeys on earth. Each spring we move our hives deep into the Apalachicola River basin to catch a bloom that lasts barely two weeks. What we bottle is raw, unfiltered, and unlike any honey you've tasted. Real Tupelo is all about timing. As the white Tupelo trees along the Apalachicola come into bloom, we strip the hives of their earlier honey and set on fresh, empty boxes — so what the bees gather next is the Tupelo. Then we race the bloom, pulling those boxes the moment the blossoms begin to fall. That short, careful window is what captures Tupelo's signature flavor. It's a tradition Kirk and Sharon have kept for decades — honey this distinct can't be rushed, only timed. Never heated or over-processed. Bottled the way the bees made it. Empty boxes go on as the Tupelo opens, so Tupelo is what fills them. Its naturally high fructose keeps it smooth and pourable. We're the beekeepers and the bottler. No middleman. Tupelo is prized for its delicate flavor — soft and buttery, with gentle floral and pear-like notes and a clean, mellow finish that never turns sharp. Drizzle it over warm biscuits, swirl it into tea or yogurt, pair it with sharp cheese, or taste it straight off the spoon. Once you've had real Tupelo, ordinary honey won't do. Ever had honey turn hard and grainy in the jar? Predominant Tupelo resists it. Thanks to its naturally high fructose content — and the careful timing of our harvest — true Tupelo is famously slow to crystallize, staying silky and pourable far longer than most honeys, if it ever sets at all. Smooth from the first spoonful to the last. Sleeping Bear Farms has been a family beekeeping operation for more than 45 years. We raise the bees, chase the bloom, time the harvest, and bottle the honey ourselves — so what reaches your table is exactly what came from the hive. No shortcuts, no middleman. Just honey, the way it should be.

  • Love
Love this honey and the squeeze bottle makes it so easy to use. I’ve tried other brands of Tupelo honey but this one tastes amazing.

  • Best honey ever
Tupelo honey is my absolute favorite honey. The flavor is mild and it never crystallizes. I had one jar that was pushed to the back of the pantry that my mother in law gave me and it was still crystal free. It did darken some but still tasted great.

  • Arrived Intact & Tastes Great
Arrived intact, though wasn't bubble-wrapped as were the other honeys (avocado, and buckwheat) I ordered from Amazon, but the box was filled with foam popcorns and the top was taped down well to the bottle. Plastic bottle with a squeeze opening at the top, but I won't use it like that - will dip into the jar. A more fluid and sweeter-tasting honey than the buckwheat and the avocado honey I ordered at the same time, so will be a great change in taste. Is also more of a traditional-color honey, whereas the other 2 are dark. Taste is amazing! ... show more

  • TUPELO IS THS BEST. 7/10 for tupelo
It's good, very good. I just don't like it as much as the other tuplo I've bought in the past. Which mostly came from further inland swamp lands. Still worth the buy, because I can vouch that it's real. Having eaten tupelo I picked up in Northern Florida. There is nothing better than a plain jewish bagel, with housemade cream cheese, topped with tupelo honey. Hands down ... show more

  • Sweet and smooth
The best honey in the world (in my opinion). I don't know what it is about the Tupelo flower, but it makes a sweet, smooth, buttery tasting honey. Other honey can be harsh and almost bitter, but the Tupelo honey never disappoints. I would stock up on Tupelo honey every trip to Florida. It isn't sold near me in Georgia. The last time I ran out and was able to order it online, it changed my world. Now I never have to wait for a road trip to restock my precious Tupelo honey. ... show more
