  • Great product but a #&$& to wipe after cure
Great product but a #&$& to wipe after cure. Application is super easy but wiping these clean after it cures wore me out. You really need to apply the elbow great to get the residue cleaned off. 4 Months after application, the marble countered are still repelling liquids quite well.

  • I figured it was a good way to see what didn't work
Prompt delivery from seller and not damaged. ** Back story ** I purchased a house where the previous owner installed granite counters in the bathroom. Not certain I would have done that but hey it's there so I'll deal with it. The issue is when my 8year old plays submarine commander she slops water every where. Over the last year I've noticed that even after I cleaned the counter it seemed that water soaked through and was still noticeable hours after. Was only to a friend told me that I needed to seal it to prevent issues. ** Process - Day 1 ** I removed all objects and cleaned the counter. After letting it dry I put on rubber gloves poured the Tuff Duck directly to the counter. Since it was in a pool I evenly moved it around with my gloved hand to ensure all areas were covered. According to the directions you can't let it dry but also allow it to sit 10/15mins so it was a challenge to eyeball the amount that didn't seem wasteful. After letting it soak for 10mins I cleaned up the puddles and let it fully dry overnight. ** Check up - Day 2 ** After letting 15hrs go by I let my daughter play. I figured it was a good way to see what didn't work. There was some areas where the water say on top and others where it soaked in like before. I cleaned up and let it dry. It seemed like areas around the faucet handles I seemed to have missed. ** Reapply - Day 3 ** I followed the same process as Day 1. ** Check up - Day 4 ** Did the same process as day 2, my daughter is starting to really love the sink play time. Difference is that the counter actually beads water on top. Even after water sitting for 15mins it just sit like it was plastic or glass. My wife also noted that the counter looked new, out of the box. Not certain how long it will stay this way, the MFG claims it will need to be resealed after a year or so. If something goes horribly wrong I'll update, but so far I do enjoy this. I'm assuming it would work great in bathroom tile grout or in a kitchen counter. Good stuff. ... show more

  • Who knew sealing marble and grout could be so easy?
Wow - what a great product. 1) Easy to use - it is the consistency of water and spreads easily. I just poured some on a microfiber cloth to seal a granite countertop. 2) Terrific results - I used 2 applications, with about 60 minutes in between applications, and the water beads on the marble now. Also used on a tiled shower to seal the grout, and the water does not darken/soak into the grout anymore. 3) No discoloration or staining/streaking. Other products I've used left streaks, but Tuff Duck applies clear with no streaking. ... show more

  • Easy to apply grout sealer.
Application worked as expected, the question is ... how well did it soak into the grout, avoiding future mold build-up? The answer will only come with time and continued use of the shower. I did notice the sealer soaking in somewhat, but since I was sealing vertical grout lines, (shower surround), I could not leave the sealer on the grout joint for a long period, (say 15 minutes). Instead, I used a small brush to apply the sealer, then repeated the process applying three coats. I was sealing sanded grout, which is known to be porous. There was no discoloration of the white grout, with the application of Tuff Duck sealer. I could tell that the sealer had been applied after the first coat, but after that, I'm trusting the additional coats also soaked in. The oder of this product is not bad, in my opinion. I deal with much stronger oders when I'm staining wood, and it's not all that bad. (Maybe it's an issue to someone very sensitive to orders, but not for the average person). So further recommendation will have to come with use of the shower and time. ... show more

  • Amazing as a Grout Sealer
This is amazing. We just moved into a brand new house and I am going to be sealing every inch of grout! I have this wood-look tile in the dining room with pretty light grout and I do NOT wanting it turning black over time. Bought this based on the reviews. I also bought some condiment bottles to dispense this just over the grout line and the application was so easy. I put on plenty and made sure it stayed wet for 10 minutes, then I wiped the excess off with a paper towel. Then I went back and did a second coat right after. We went to do an errand and when I came back I tested a spot, photo included. When wet this grout looks the same color as the tiles (first photo), when dry it is white. You can see in the photo how well it beads up! I am amazed. Thank goodness for this product! I will say that I think it brightened our grout just a bit; I mean it seems a little more whiter than before. That’s fine with me but may affect someone else’s grout color. It went on clear as water but I did find a spot or two on the tile that didn’t get wiped up completely and then dried and it was a milky white. Thank you so much, Tuff Duck! ... show more
