This review is in regard to FamoWood 40022126 Latex Wood Filler - Pint, Natural 24 Oz. This is a great product and fully deserves a five star review. It hardens, sands and paints similar to wood One thing I did learn the hard way is that this product should not be applied much more than a 1/4" deep in one setting or it will not dry well. It will instead tend to crack and remain pliable when touched. If you apply it as instructed it works wonderfully. It can be layered one application over another, completed over a few days time, which I ended up doing out of necessity, to a depth of nearly an 1.5", height of 2.5" and width of 3.5" I used this near the bottom of an exterior doorway casing, just above the threshold, where it had rotted from water seepage, and it worked beautifully The bottom line is this is one of the best wood fillers I have ever used, and I highly recommend it ... show more

This wood filler is hands down the best I’ve ever used, and it's the only one I trust for all my projects. It dries in just 15 minutes and can be sanded, drilled, or nailed without any issues. It never shrinks, crumbles, or cracks, making it perfect for both indoor and outdoor use. However, my recent purchase from this seller, TheHardwareCityCom, was disappointing. The filler had large patches of mold on the top, which I had to scrape off, and it had a strange smell. I'm using this to fill old nail holes and scratches in 2" x 6" x 12' redwood to reuse in a deck. This filler comes out of the container smooth and easy to spread with a putty knife. It dries in about 30 min so there is plenty of time to work with it. It is easily sanded and will accept almost as much stain as the sanded wood. The color of the filler is close to the typical 2" x 6" of pine or Douglas-fir. I don't know if it comes tinted. This specific filler was recommended by a furniture refinisher on YouTube because it was so quick and easy to apply in a nice, smooth, thin, even layer an inch wide, or in the narrowest of cracks or scratches.
