Great Intro to Minimalist / Active Earphones I have had these earphone since about June 24th and they have exceeded my expectations. I purchased the Demica B8 earphones specifically because I wanted to have wireless earphones that I would be able to listen to music and make calls while remaining active and being able to make calls. These are almost the opposite of noise cancelling - you have nearly the complete ability to hear ambient sound around you. This was most important for me when walking in the city / crossing the street, being in nature, etc. I will say the B8s do not form a complete seal over the ear, which definitely makes bass response in any music very slight, but again, I bought this for a very specific purpose so this is not an issue for me. These earphones are very comfortable to wear, and feel minimal because the form factor is sleek, uni-piece-like. They hang very comfortably over the ears and require no part to actually go inside your ears. A small speaker nearly ‘floats’ over the ear canal to produce sound. It is very efficient as is am able to hear music and take phone calls clearly without the sound spilling over into the earshot of others, even when they are near, say like in a seat next to you, etc. For me, there is no type of discomfort or fatigue from wearing these for extended amounts of time, which is another reason I chose these. I have other great earphones for work and movies, but none of these are as comfortable as the B8s for longevity. I am also able to throw a pair of glasses on over these without an issue. I do have to take care, though, then taking glasses off as I’ve had that shift the fit of the earphones, but it was intuitive to expect as much. Performance is great as I can hear music clearly and make phone calls with ease. I hear voices clearly as well and everyone I’ve spoken to in calls I’ve made say they’ve hear me with no problem. Out of the box, these are very easy to use. The B8s arrive in a clamshell-type charging case, which they are magnetically held in place by, and the minute they are taken out, they are activated. Just pair the earphones with your smart device’s bluetooth, and you are good to go. I’m probably the last person in the world to see these, but at around $70 bucks, this was a good price point for me. When done, just pop the earphones back in the very intuitively designed case for charging / putting the earphones to sleep. I was able to use B8s on a road trip for four hours and nearly the rest of the day. In that time, I listened to music and when we got there, took phone calls, etc. That evening, my smartphone displayed the B8s did not get below 80% charge. I have to test this more, but that was one of the longest times I had actually used personal earphones of any kind for that long. I doubt anytime soon I will ever use it till out of charge. Besides, whenever you store the earphones in their case, they will always be recharging. The clamshell case is no frills. When the B8s are inside and charging, a single LED will glow blue that the case is charging the earphone / earphones. If you plug the case to the included USB-c cable and power supply, that LED glows red, and when charging is done for anything, the light turns off. The case is sleek and small as well, so I can keep it in the front pocket along with my phone when not in use. While traveling around, I am glad to report that the units are to an extent resistant to water. While I would never try swimming with these, I had got sweat on these, and as the units are nearly all smooth (no speaker holes, etc.) they held firm in place, and were a cinch to clean with a soapy wipe, and returned to use with virtually no down time to try. No nooks and crannies to really give attention to ensure being clean. Operation of the B8s is simple / minimalist as well. The pair of earphones has a button on the lowest part of the unit that hangs behind the ear. A single click on either button acts as a start/stop of the last song you listened to on your smart device (I have a 2017 iPhone). Where things differ are for double clicks and triple clicks. The left earphone acts like a minus volume increment with a double click, and rewind / previous track button press with a triple button click. Vice versa for the right earphone. The last thing I’ll mention is these earphones have a very useful range. I have had other bluetooth headphones from 2019, and I could get about 20 ft away from them in my home, including with walls and away being away from my phone, then reception would cut out. I am able to get from one end of my home to the next with no issue, at least 40 with no reception problems. Again, I am very happy with my purchase of the B8s and highly recommend them. They are very compact and have been one the most convenient extension of my smart phone I’ve used. I will follow up with durability at a later time as this is not something I plan to test (I’m generally careful enough to have not have a case for my iPhone for several years now.)
