I'm someone who has always been willing to pay a "Premium" for high quality tools. I have to admit however, at $200 I was apprehensive about buying the True Position Cabinet Jig. Rest assured; this jig is worth every penny. It is extremely well made, easy to use and was perfect for the Shaker Style Cabinets I installed in my kitchen. There is no way the handles / drawer pulls would look as consistent from cabinet to cabinet as they do with the cheap plastic drill guide included with the handles. One of the features I liked most were the "Spacing Pins" included with the jig, to ensure the screw holes match perfectly with the hardware being installed. They also included a drill bit in the kit. So, if you're unsure about spending a little extra money...go for it. You won't be disappointed!!

This jig is awesome! It is very high quality and very precise. The case is solid and fits the tool perfectly. The instructions are easy to follow and set up is very easy. It is expensive. No getting around that! But I think it’s totally worth it. Time is money and this jig will save you a lot of time if you are building cabinets and drawers on a fairly regular basis. Even for a weekend woodworker like me…I’m able to really use my limited time in the shop more efficiently because of this jig. Personally, I think the ‘Pro’ version is an absolute must. If you are doing multiple drawers that are the same size, it’s a time-saver.

I have bought the knock offs before. But there were plastic parts and it just felt cheap. This one is expensive but when you are drilling holes into thousands of dollars of cabinet doors can you really afford to not spend extra? This one feels sturdy and is fast to adjust and beats the old school wooden jigs by a mile.

I used this tool to install over 88 handles across ours and mother in law's house and I couldn't have done it without this tool. Was gonna work with the cheap plastic one from HD but our drawers are Shaker style with recessed centers and too tall for the cheap template as well. This thing was easy to set and re-set and held position over dozens of drillings. Loved that we could pick the handle placement on the cabinets arbitrarily and trust that they would all be identical, left and right. Also found out almost all of our "same size" drawers varied by up to an 1/8" but it was easy to get the handles centered on every one.

I bought this jig after using handmade jigs that I would make as necessary. They were made in the field, and sometimes were slightly off by 1mm or so. On a large handle, or row of cabinets, that can be very noticeable. Now with this jig, drilling for handles is DEAD ON ACCURATE EVERY SINGLE TIME. This jig is solid and extremely well built. The box doubles as a cardboard carrying case so it sits on the shelf in my truck rather than bouncing around in the toolbox. (The box will eventually need to be replaced--it's not a hard case, unfortunately). The options are endless with this jig. It is a bit pricey, but you will not regret it. I have also purchased the line boring extensions (you can buy the whole thing as the TP-1935 kit). I look forward to using those for drilling holes for those custom jobs that hard to program on the CNC. UPDATE: After purchasing the add-on line boring extensions, I still can say this is a VERY well built, well put together jig. They all fit in one case which is nice. The line boring extensions are very well built with nice bushings. All in all it is an EXCELLENT purchase. The precision of the markings on the jig is dead on accurate and very easy to line up and set with the set screws. A few comments: When using the line boring extensions: Start by registering one end of the extensions overlapping with an existing hole, if possible. Put a drill bit in there to hold it. I found that there is some flex over the length of the entire jig, so measure the distance perfectly and drill one hole on the other end and put in a drill bit or 5mm peg to hold it. Then drill the bulk of the holes. Otherwise, you may be off by 2-3mm which is more than enough to throw things off. The drill stop collar that is included with the drill bits is junk. Throw it away and get a decent set of drill stops for controlling the depth of the drill. I purchased these and i am happy with them: General Tools & Instruments S838 6 Piece 3/16-Inch to 1/2-Inch Drill Stop Assortment I wasn't very impressed with the included drill bits either. I was drilling melamine and they had some tear out. I found putting a strip of blue painters tape under the jig helps. And apply pressure to the jig where you are drilling. That should help with tear out. Same on the back side, if you are drilling holes all the way through the material.

My cabinet installer was trying to extort more money from me to install the handles on a large kitchen set of cabinets(which my crew could have done a better job on). Instead of paying him more money to put on the handles, I purchased this install tool. It worked like a champ and we were able to drill about 58 doors and drawers, with handles 4”-12” long, in under 2 hours. No errors, perfectly aligned and did not have to deal with the sheister installer! The “shaker drawer” adjustment knobs add stability on the offset to give you confidence the hole is where you want it

Excellent and well made product. Worth the extra price for the way it’s made and the precision. Worked perfectly for my shaker cabinet drawers and drawer fronts. My only extremely minor complaint is that the drill bit included doesn’t match the quality of the tool. It should also reflect the material and precision of the tool imo. Again that is VERY minor.
