  • Shockingly comfortable
Color: Red
I bought a few different pillows for travel (if you can call this a pillow). I was surprised at how comfortable this one is. I’ve used it when sitting on the couch reading, which often leads to napping. This lets me fall asleep (upright) without moving, which inevitably wakes me up and defeats the purpose of the nap. It’s true about no more head bobbing. I don’t know how durable it is. I’ve only used it a few times and it hasn’t gotten dragged through an airport yet. I expect the solid plate in it will hold up well. The fleece part I’m not sure about. It’s not super soft. If it’s going to fail, it will probably be the fabric. I haven’t washed it yet, so I don’t know if that will change anything. My only challenge is getting it wrapped properly. It’s awkward and I often get a tighter band of fabric across the center of my throat because I struggle to get the velcro attached. Still, I love this thing. Because of the bent plate, doesn’t pack down as nicely as a true pillow, but attached to a carry-on it should be fine. It’s coming with me from now on whenever I travel. ... show more

  • Trtl pillow
Color: Grey
I’d say this pillow is comfortable and worth a try but it didn’t work for me, personally. I was on a 6.5 hour plane ride that left at 9:30pm and I spent most of my time trying to sleep, not actually sleeping. I was wearing an eye shade and I adjusted the pillow a few times but just wasn’t able to sleep. Funny enough, I did get pretty comfortable. I also had my arms slung through the Pavilia travel blanket pillow so for a while it felt like I was cuddling with a body pillow. I don’t even know what I’d change about this pillow to make it work for me. I especially love the compact size of this pillow. Coming home we boarded at 12:30pm so I never planned on napping but I did and I was able to sleep comfortably without the pillow. ... show more

  • SO much better than a travel pillow!
Color: Grey
Used this for a red-eye from Hawaii. Worked like a charm. Comes with a sleep mask too. Worth the money. Light weight, cozy on a cold plane. Supportive and lightweight. I'm so pleased! On a really long flight caught some real Zzzz's!! Finally!!!

  • A Struggle Between Comfort and Circulation
Color: Black
I wanted to love the Trtl Travel Pillow. really, I did. The promise of a scientifically engineered, ultra-supportive neck brace (sorry, “pillow”) that would finally allow me to sleep on a plane without waking up feeling like I lost a fight with the overhead bin was too good to pass up. Unfortunately, after several flights of dedicated testing, I can confidently say this: if you enjoy the sensation of being in a very mild, travel-sized guillotine, this is the product for you. The “Support” Dilemma The concept is clever. You wrap it around your neck, lean into the hidden support, and drift off into blissful, ergonomic slumber. The reality? The only way this thing provides any meaningful support is if you cinch it so tightly that you start questioning your blood flow situation. At optimal “support” level, I found myself teetering between “mildly uncomfortable” and “Is this what a giraffe feels like in a turtleneck?” If you loosen it even slightly, it becomes a $60 piece of fabric wrapped around your neck for no reason at all. And if you tighten it enough to actually hold your head up, congratulations! You now have a built-in pulse-checking device because your body will let you know very quickly when your carotid artery has had enough. In-Flight Performance My hope was to finally achieve that elusive, graceful plane nap. Instead, I spent most of my flight adjusting, readjusting, and questioning my life choices as my seat neighbor side-eyed my increasingly desperate attempts to make it work. The “lean and sleep” motion they advertise? More like “lean, start losing feeling in your jaw, panic, readjust, repeat.” The Verdict For those with an iron will, a tolerance for slight oxygen deprivation, and perhaps a slimmer neck than mine, this might work. For the rest of us? Save your money and go back to the classic awkward head-tilt-against-the-window method or invest in a real neck pillow. Or better yet, just accept that air travel is inherently uncomfortable and move on. Final Rating: 2/5 Stars – Points for innovation, deducted for it being a personal tourniquet for the worst possible location ... show more

  • Good concept but not goor for everyone
Color: Grey
I recently tried this travel pillow during a long flight after seeing several recommendations for it. After using it on three flights, each over four hours long, my experience has been mixed. The design is compact and lightweight, making it easy to pack in a carry-on without taking up much space. I liked the soft fleece material—it felt cozy. Once I figured out the right positioning, it gave decent neck support and kept my head upright. That said, it took me a few tries to position it correctly. At first, it felt awkward, and if it wasn’t wrapped tightly enough, the support tended to slip out of place. Over time, I also noticed the pillow pressing uncomfortably against my jaw and chin. What really stood out for me, though, was how hot it made me feel, even on a cold airplane. While I think the design could work well for some people depending on their anatomy, the heat and overall discomfort during long use made it less ideal for me. ... show more

  • Best Travel Pillow
Color: Coral
I needed to purchase another travel pillow because my last trtl pillow was left behind on my family's last trip. I decided to purchase the "plus" model because I thought that with it being called the "plus" and having memory foam, adjustable height, and a mesh backing it would truly be better than the normal one, and since the site was having a sale, I took advantage and got that one instead. However, I was mistaken because there is nothing "plus" about it, instead it either hurt my collarbone or my head when I tried using it as the normal model. All that to say, the NORMAL trtl travel pillow is still my favorite, the flexible boning holds up your head in a very natural and comfortable way and it really does let you enjoy the Z's during long travels. It's very light and small, and comes with a helpful bag that can attach to your backpack. I 100% recommend! ... show more
