  • Immediate Improvement
Style: ICA65569
I had installed MSD coils on my 2017 Buick Regal 2.0t. They provided an improvement over the factory coils. However, after only 24k miles, one failed. I replaced it with one of the factory ones I had kept. Then, just 2 weeks later, another MSD coil failed. Again, I used one of the factory coils and the CEL, along with the misfire, disappeared. But would you believe that 2 weeks later a third one of the MSDs failed! The shaft had literally broken into two pieces! I used an old-school trick: a wire coat hanger to remove the part attached to the spart plug. No wonder that ZZP Performance does not sell them anymore. I took a chance on the TRQ coils and the difference was amazing. Much better than the factory coils or the MSD when new. My car is tuned with +4 degrees of timing (among other mods) and there is no knock whatsoever. Pulls harder now. Throttle response has notably improved. Granted, I have not used them a long time but so far this has turned out to be a great purchase. My Regal is happy and so am I 😊 ... show more

  • 3 coil packs failed within 3 months.
Style: ICA33918
I don't ever write reviews, but felt like I had to. To be fair, i'm guessing this isn't just a TRQ problem. I replaced coil packs on my 6 cylinder Toyota so the back 3 is a 3 hour job because you have to pull the intake. I had one plug go bad in about a week, luckily it was cylinder 1 and I could get it to blind without pulling the intake. I replaced the TRQ with another TRQ which went bad about 3 weeks later. I replaced it with an OEM and so far so good. Well today, cylinder 5 has a misfire. I will pull the intake and replace all 3 back plugs with Denso (OEM for Toyota). If your coil packs are easy to get to these might be fine, but if there is a lot of labor to get to them, I wouldn't use these you're just asking for problems. Hope this helps someone. ... show more

  • GREAT Coil Pack(s)
Style: ICA64254
I'd installed these TRQ Coil Packs & new spark plugs Thurs May 9th, 2024 in a 2017 Ford Expedition. Twin-Turbo 3.5L EcoBoost V6. Install being about an hour in a 1/2-2 hours, went in pretty easy w/o any real problems. Now when I'd bought the truck when 2 years old back in 2019 with 50,000 miles, I figured it might be a good idea to 'jus do the coil packs n' plugs, so I'd done so buying the 1st round of coil packs/plugs here on Amazon, (prob 150$ for all-6 coil packs & 6 new plugs).... Two packs died in that 1-1/2 year span, throwing error codes, id temp replaced em with a few older/original ones that worked & that I'd saved. The only real performance mods Ive installed on the truck being: -A throttle Body Spacer -K & N Cold air Intake (Well sealed to bottom side of hood with home-spun mods) -'Pedal Commander' -Have only run premium 92-93 octane fuel/with octane booster in every tank since buying due to turbos. Regular oil changes/etc.... So im prob running 395-400 or so HP/435-440 ft lbs of torque with such additions VS Fords stock 385HP. & 425 ft lbs IIRC?.. No wild aftermarket tunes added or done since purchasing, what its got now is QUITE enough. Upon test driving yesterday after TRQ/New Champion Iridium spark plugs installation, I'd noticed a SIGNIFICANT increase in acceleration, turbo lag reduction (Which the Pedal Commander DEF helps with too) a more stable Idle & MUCH better overall throttle response.... Plus, the coil packs are RED, now Ive always thought the whole RED = "!FASTAH!" was just a myth of sorts, but Ive been proven WRONG on that one!....;) Id also noticed a MARKED difference in physical WEIGHT between my older grey colored 'Performance Coil Packs" & the TRQ Coil Pack product, meaning better materials used/more metal-Copper/Insulating epoxy used within TRQ's Coil pack construction. The TRQ's also have a thin layer of RTV silicone electrical insulator within the coil packs rubber boot where it connects/marries to the top of the spark plug, which the other old ones didnt... ~HIGHLY recommended for the price/value. Id purchase again if ever needed! ... show more

  • Worked…at first. 6 months and one failed.
Style: ICA71258
I bought and installed these in my Wrangler 6mos ago. The packaging was great, they look really cool and seemed well put together. Plugs and coils are not a fun or quick job on the wrangler but they installed well enough and even came pre-greased. The vehicle ran normally for 6 months and then got a code pointing to the #4 coil. I cleared it and ran it for a week and then it failed completely, rough idle and power loss, etc. I had one of the old ones still so I popped it in and now it’s running fine again. I tried contacting support through my Amazon order page but the link leads to a website that really doesn’t seem to function and just has contact email for working for/with the company. I guess when it comes to these coils I should stick with OEM. So far only one has failed, I’ll update this review if others do. ... show more
