I ordered these as a travel-friendly backup for myself after managing to lose a black pair of Bluetooth headphones; I can still wear a youth hat size, so it was a reasonable gamble that they'd work for me, and the orange color is pretty difficult to misplace. But these have actually blown me away. First, I'm noise-sensitive and often need earplugs to deal with my partner's snoring in the middle of the night, or with random noise when I'm trying to focus as almost anything can distract me. These do a reasonable job when set on the loudest max volume and using active noise cancellation; I often have to set my adult-volume headphones without noise cancellation at something like 12-18% of max volume, so these get plenty loud enough for my ears. I'm not sure they're capable of blocking out distracting noise so that I could work in a crowded room, but at least they block enough to let me watch videos or listen to music without dealing with a bunch of social anxiety. (It's true to say they wouldn't let me work during a flight, but that's not the fault of the headphones; I'm a bit of an avgeek and would be distracted no matter what! The noise cancellation is good enough to let me read or draw on a light rail or subway, though, which is a far more fair test given my interests.) The noise canceling isn't available when the 3.5mm cable is plugged in, which kind of sucks, but the long battery life makes it so I can generally get through a couple of days of travel before charging them in the new hotel room overnight. I'm getting about 25-30 hours of battery life with the higher volume range and the ANC on--doable for most trips, or for charging once a week or so if I only use them when going downstairs to breakfast and while writing when my partner's sleeping and snoring. The Bluetooth paired easily with my computer, Android phone, and iPad, as I expected, and didn't drop easily even when I stepped down the hall to the laundry room a couple of doors down and across the hall (which is kind of impressive given there's an elevator between my current hotel room and the laundry room). ... show more
