  • Wow. It's still possible to get more for your money
..a LOT more for the money in this case. These are just perfect. The sound quality is astonishing, the ANC really works, aside from the passive being already great, there's not a sound passing through at home as anyone talks to me or with loud music on nearby. I will test this further in NYCs subway but I know it does work and it does cancel a lot of noise, at this price point you can't complain about any working ANC, but I already think it's actually pretty good at it. About the sound quality, what I got these for, volume is loud, has range, reach, bass is distorsion free on bass heavy songs at max, mids, lows, vocals, everything is clear and detailed no matter what you do with the bass. I only use lossless hifi music, tested these on ly V60 with aptx adaptive on, on Jetaudio premium heavily customized. You have to realize that the earbuds will only be as good as good as your player, your settings, your device and the codecs it's compatible with. I have it all and these are excellent. I could have gone for earbuds at any price point, I chose these because strangely enough they have everything I wanted, had never heardvof the brand, after extensive research: Aptx adaptive for my V60, not just aptx, ANC, water resistant. Just try to find one earbud with all these. The 300+ Sonys? No aptx etc. Forget the apple pro, have those at home too and do not match these. Then you also get a wireless charging case, in ear detection? If you have anything to complain about for this price you have problems. I will tell you what needs some improvement, it's not a complaint: they are all plastic, the premium feel is not there. I wouldn't mind paying more for these. The app, ok, there's an app, works well for ANC etc, but the equalizer presets aren't useful, I wouldn't use them even if they were but they are not, nothing uncommon with earbuds much more expensive either. Tronsmart is now a brand in my list of quality audio. ... show more

  • ANC==completely ineffective.
One star for nice packaging? Instructions and messages from earbuds were clear and relatively intuitive (the "manual" is NOT self explanatory and is too brief and without any explanations or instructions). I bought the earbuds for the ANC capability. It is not there. ANC on or ANC off is no different. Ambient noises loud or quiet come right through, whether "ambient" is ON or OFF. Lots of apparent/programmable functionality, but none in the real physical world. If you want earbuds without ANC they are ok, but you can get that cheaper. Bottom line: the ANC does not work. ... show more

  • Instructions are pretty but horrible - buds are good though
My current favorite hobby is to review earbuds. Mostly I stick to the budget (meaning under $50) ones, but I've been branching out a bit. These are solidly in the not budget camp. Pairing - paired easily and stayed paired. If you take a bud out of your ear, it will pause your music, but the music starts right back up when you put the bud back in. Instructions - OMG - instructions were horrible! I'm pretty sure whoever wrote them thought that they went over everything, but they really didn't. Not clearly anyway. First, the instructions are on orange paper but written in white, which means it's very hard to see in anything but super bright light. There are also lots of pictures showing you what to do, but they aren't always clear. FYI - a picture of an ear does not mean "ANC mode" to me. And the ear with the 'x' next to it? I though that meant that's how you turn these off. Controls - OK - there should be a law that play/pause is single tap. That's just how it should be, and it drives me nuts when that's not the case. But here's what the controls are: - single tap = volume - double tap = play/pause - triple tap = changing from ANC to Ambient to off - long press for 2 seconds = change track - there are also pictures that have to do with the phone - I think tap twice will answer a call or hang up. And possibly a 2 second press will reject the call. - tap once then long press for 2 seconds does something with the microphone. I have no idea what, but that's what the picture looks like. FYI - the instructions are better on the product page. That last bit apparently is to turn on your voice assistant. It sounds like I hate these. I don't. I just hate the instructions. Which is sad because someone probably worked pretty hard on them. Battery life - average for earbuds. It's probably a little less if you keep it on ANC all the time, Comfort - these are very comfortable. They come with 5 different silicon tips, but the ones already on the buds fit me just fine. ANC - Seems to work well. I can't tell much of a difference between the modes, but most sound is blocked out anyway. Latency - awesome!!! I don't notice any lag between the mouths moving on my screen and the voices. If you're a gamer and *have* to hear when the footsteps start, these will work amazingly well. Sound quality - pretty good. Things weren't tinny, and the bass, while strong, didn't muddy up the other bits. I could hear different instruments clearly. TL;DR: These are actually pretty good earbuds. The sound is good and the ANC works, though I don't think the ambient noise setting actually lets that much ambient noise in. They are comfortable and there is no latency (or at least no detectable latency). The instructions look very nice, but they are amazingly hard to read. They are also a bit confusing - the product page on Amazon is better. There is also a little drawstring bad in the box, which is very nice. ... show more

  • noise canceling isn't great, but over all a great sound.
The Apollo Air+ look and feel cheap, but they sound quite good. The touch panels are well defined, which helps prevent accedental touches. Noise cancelation isn't to bad, and will certainly help lower the noise level around you, but even for the money, there is better noise cancelation available in the market. Call quality was clear, but everything including my voice was picked up and heard by the people I spoke with. The sound does not change when in ANC, Ambient or passive modes, which is a huge improvement from the original Apollo, released last Summer. The Air+ are compatible with SBC, AAC, and APTX Adaptive codecs. The range of the earbuds is top notch. I can walk through my entire apartment, and through some of the hallway immediately outside while leaving my phone on my desk. The ambient sound is realistic but could be a touch louder. The sound is well tuned. There is a fun level of bass that can certainly get your Toes tapping, and the treble is matched with the bass which adds to that energy. Mids are defined, but definitely could use a boost in some situations. However, this general tuning is complementary to some HipHop, pop, EDM, Rock, alt and Metal. The case is small but cheap feeling. It is capable of wireless charging, which is a nice bonus. For the money, these are a good option to consider, especially if an energetic sound is a higher priority than noise cancelation. ... show more
