I already love my Teva flatforms which I wear casually/to run errands, but before a trip to the lake with swimming and kayaking I wanted a pair that I could take into the water with me. I originally considered Teva's water shoes like the Hurricane which are all foam, including the straps, but some reviews mentioned the footbed becoming slippery when wet which kind of defeats the purpose. So I went with a pair of Originals instead because the footbed is textured. Pros: • Like the flatforms, these fit true to size - I'm usually a 7 and the 7's fit perfectly • Love that the front and back straps are adjustable for a snug and custom fit • They're comfortable barefoot or with socks • The footbeds weren't slippery at all in the water Cons: • They feel a little thin - like when walking on a road with gravel you'll be able to feel some of the bigger pieces of rock through the footbed • There's some "drag" in the water but that's to be expected with a sandal instead of a shoe • If I walk longer distances in these without socks, sometimes the textured footbed will rub on the balls of my feet • The straps themselves aren't waterproof at all and they take forever to dry - at least 24 hours inside. So if you need to wear them again the next day, have fun slipping your feet into damp, cold straps. Overall they worked well for my purpose but I don't think Teva should advertise them as waterproof which is a bit misleading. I'll probably keep them for casual wear because they're comfy and cute, but look for something better suited to water for next time.

Before buying these I read more reviews for these shoes than I think I have for any other product I've ever bought lol. I'll start by saying I LOVE THEM, and I've never worn these kind of sandals before. I don't think I'll go back to regular flip flops, barring when I need to run outside immediately and can't take the few seconds to Velcro. They feel so good on my feet, they're so comfortable and so easy. When I ordered them I saw they'd be delivered 2 days before I left for a trip to the beach with my mom. They arrived on time, the next day I did a mile, maybe mile and a half of walking with my kids down to a playground. At first on my way back, I felt a little bit of an almost-rash trying to start to form where the Velcro meets the side of my foot just by my big toes. It was slightly red for a bit that night but I've worn them every day since, with no more problems, no redness, no rashes or blisters, so I think it was a matter of kind of "breaking them in" and they're already so flexible it didn't take much. For the beach trip I had worn these on the way, plus packed a pair of slip on sneakers and a pair of flip flops, but I never wore anything BUT these the whole trip, and ever since. I wore them on the beach, in the SAND, and unlike flip flops you can actually walk in the sand with them! With regular flip flops, the sand piles up in the back of your flop and makes it hard or impossible to pick your foot up again. With these, you can just..walk. My mom loved them! I hope she gets a pair. She made a comment that flip flops give your feet a tiring work out and it's true, you have to kind of pinch your toes in a way whenever you pick your feet up. For most of my adult life I've been wearing flip flops practically march-november. Now I'll be wearing these for every day, comfy wear. I got the sort of neutral khaki green with the suns, moons, and stars design. The print has a pastel pinkish and blue tone to them, but it somehow works with the khaki green because all the colors are so muted. I may end up getting a black pair too just to keep in rotation and go with anything. A few notes- I'm a true size 10 but after reading the reviews and seeing that some people had a lot of space in front of the toes, I sized down to 9 and they fit perfectly. - Another reviewer noted white powdery substance on the sole of the shoe. I noticed this a tiny bit at first, but after I rinsed them it never happened again.
