    • Valve caps cracked and broke after a couple of months
While the reviews we read were good and my daughter's band teacher said the sound was ok, this turned into a disaster for us. We were very careful with the instrument and I watched my daughter oil the valves each time so I know she was not hard on it. Two of the valve covers cracked and the pads came loose and the valves stopped working properly. This caused huge frustration for my 6 year old and set her behind the other band members - more frustration. I did not realize the extent of the issue with the valves at first. I thought a lighter instrument would make it easier for her to play. She is doing much better with a brass coronet we were lucky enough to rent at mid-term. Perhaps this is a one-off considering many good reviews, but I wanted to put it out there. ... show more

Terrible product. There are air leaks and you can play the same notes in different octaves and it would be incredibly flat. It also cracks if you haven't dropped it.
