The media could not be loaded. This is my honest review. It addresses all the bad reviews. My hardware and instructions were simply not in the box, like others. I contacted Trixie and got a speedy reply. They Fed-Ex ed them very fast and gave me a viewable assembly diagram. This is also available on their sight. This tree must be assembled from the top nest going down to the base or you'll have big problems. Assembly is my issue, and I've done maybe thousands in my life. Just do as you are told once you have those tricky hardware bag and assembly sheet. It's not easy to think upside-down. So once you attach the top bed or nest, flip the tree upside down if you can't do it in your head. Once you match those weird printed directions, it will become easier. I recommend, although a pain, flipping it upright to upside down as you go. Thank you Truxie Customer Support. As for this tree, and my experience, our disabled cat took to the stairs fast. Her rear legs got hurt well before I met her, but she has some limited movement. This fantastic cat tree was no problem for her. I can't recommend this enough. It's genius with could be better instructions. Also check around for best prices. It's a bit steep, but possibly a great buy for most limited mobility cats. ... show more

First off- works great for my purposes (3 legged cat who can’t jump very high). When assembled properly it’s very sturdy, it doesn’t look cheap, the bed is plenty large enough for a medium sized cat (10-13lbs), and high enough she doesn’t feel like she’s missing out. My other cat likes it too. For everything else- I was first delivered a dog kennel from Trixie? had to return and reship the cat tree that I actually ordered. The assembly wasn’t too bad (after I built almost the entire thing from bottom up and then noticed the tiny “advice” in the bottom right corner of the instructions that said to assemble top to bottom). Instructions could have been more detailed and saved some people from unnecessary frustration. The box looked like it had been thrown off a plane but thankfully the damage was contained to a dent in one of the poles (cosmetic but noticeable). All the pieces were inside but there were so many holes in the box that the hardware baggie and instructions definitely could have fallen out or the fabric of the tree could have been stained as everything was just loose and not plastic wrapped or separated by more cardboard inside. Many other reviewers noted the shipping box condition so I am definitely thinking it is a seller issue and not a shipping issue. They should reevaluate the packaging. Lastly- I’m not sure that this would be the best choice for a senior cat. The opening at the top is a bit small and my cat worms through it. I can see some senior cats with joint issues having issues with that part specifically and potentially getting into the bed. Overall I am keeping it and like it but for the price I would have expected it to be shipped in better packaging, have a bit more functionality for senior cats, and come with much clearer directions. Even just a couple step guide with a nice big reminder at the beginning to assemble top down would have made a difference. ... show more

Rescued a very small kitten who had severe trauma and no use of a rear leg. Desperately searched for a ramp or something to help her to get up onto the bed, and back down safely. This tower is beyond perfect. It reaches to just over the top of our bed, she uses the little steps now whenever she wants to go up or down. She enjoys the top bed and the hammock cave. It's sturdy, and soft for her. This thing has been a godsend for us. Was easy to put together too!!! I'd buy it again in a heartbeat and would recommend it to anyone with a young kitten, a cat with mobility issues, or a senior cat! Worth it's weight in gold!!! ... show more

I bought this for my 18 year old cat. He is about 13 pounds with limited mobility. Very disappointed. The hole that leads from the stairs to the top is narrow and requires awkward maneuvering from the cat to then hop on the bed. Senior cats have limited mobility and this tree, which is supposedly trying to address that, requires them to climb through a hole and then turn and hop on the bed from one of its sides. Because the bed has raised borders, it requires the cat to get much closer to its corners to enter it, lessening the surface it can stand on to do so. The space on either side of the entry hole is 8”, but the cat has to be about 4” from it to go inside, and that’s not enough for a cat who might struggle with balance. What makes this tree dangerous, however, is that the top bed itself is completely loose and wobbly. Any cat that jumps into it is in danger of toppling over the back, especially when the high backside of the bed obscures visibility and the cat’s ability to orient itself on the small available surface. There is literally nothing to secure the bed—which, again, is very lightweight, warped, and flimsy—to the rest of the tree and a cat that has to first enter from a weird angle on a narrow space has more chances of losing its balance. Extremely irresponsible and dangerous design. As for the stairs? Each step is about 3” deep, which is very shallow unless your cat is small. This tree could work for healthy, younger cats, but the loose bed at the top would still pose a danger. ... show more

    • Sturdy, soft and good height for seniors
The instructions are non-verbal and spatial relations skills help. Once we got going, it was pretty intuitive. Other reviews mentioned that the hardware was not in the box. I opened it right away to check. I first thought they were missing. But soon found them taped to the inside lid of the box. It would be easy to overlook them and toss the box.     • Not great for cats with bad legs
I wanted to love this for my senior cat with bone cancer in her knee. Unfortunately the hole at the top of the stairs is too narrow for her to comfortably fit through, as she can’t fully bend her knees.

    • Loved it! Awesome construction and super sturdy.
Great for any cat but perfect for our senior cat! I put a piece of cardboard wrapped in a kitchen towel in the hammock to stabilize it for her to get in and out. It worked well.
