  • Not really a big fan of this model
Not really a big fan of this model. The best resolution we can get is 1024 x 768. The unit this one replaced had much better graphics capability despite being ten years older. Other than having to scroll down and left/right it works as a KVM.

  • Great KVM
This thing is heavy and built really well. Just be sure to get the correct Server Interface Module for this KVM: Tripp Lite B078-101-USB USB Server Interface Module for B070- / B072- Series NetCommander KVM Switches http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002LAS00E/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00 My only con would be that the track pad doesn't support multi-touch for dual finger scrolling and what not. That's just me being super picky and you can see I didn't take away a star for that. Also, be sure to check the dimensions of your server rack. If its too small, you may need to take the doors off (if you have any). ... show more

  • Screen is not a native 1280x1024
We ordered this specifically for the 1280x1024 resolution. We did notice that the screen seemed to have a letterbox aspect ratio in the product profile but we figured that was just a stock photo of another model. When we received it it looked exactly like the picture. Confused we plugged it in and it did indeed have a 1280x1024 resolution in the VGA settings. It apparently takes that image and stretches it across this screen (native resolution unknown) with the letterbox aspect ratio and it looks horrible. No monitor settings were available to correct it, or at least maintain the 5:4 aspect ratio. ... show more

  • Poor quality
It died shortly after the 1 year warranty expired. When it worked the picture quality was poor and the monitor tended to blink. Also you have to be very careful when sliding closed because the releases are on the slides and they can easily catch the skin of your hands.

  • Usable for KVM, not good for remote admin.
We bought this primarily for remote access. Basically, remote into the KVM, and then pivot to the needed interface. We also bought the expansion mount as well, to give us another 16 ports. In terms of actual hardware usability, it's par for the course. Fairly normal KVM display/keyboard. Where this thing doesn't do well is with remote management. - If you buy an expansion, it doesn't auto-detect this, and update the interface. You plug the expansion units into a KVM port on the main unit. So to connect to a display on the expansion unit, you must first bring up an interface for the port on the main unit, and then from there pivot into the next unit. It's dumb. It should auto detect, and give you the options on the main screen. ** This should really be done with another ethernet interface, where you daisy chain them together in a dedicated port meant for daisy chaining. - The video doesn't do decent scaling when working remotely. Hope you like to scroll a lot. - The web-interface uses a self-signed Java app. So that means none of the new browsers will support it. In order to get to it from my Mac, I have to fire up a Windows VM so that I can use IE. This will be a huge, huge headache for all. ... show more
