  • Decent catback for the price, just make sure it fits your car and you have all the required parts.
Bought this catback system, the Spec-D 2.5" cat/test pipe, and the Dynamik 4-2-1 header and downpipe. Installation of this catback took some muscle to fit properly on my 1998 Honda Civic LX Sedan but it did work. Did not come with the spring-loaded nut and bolt sets for between the cat and downpipe so there is little to no flex in my exhaust right now which may lead to problems eventually if not fixed. Overall the system looks good and actually sounds pretty awesome for it using a fart-cannon muffler. I almost don't want to cut that off, but my twin-loop will look and sound better than the fart-cannon does. Note - If you have the same or similar car as mine and you're planning to replace the entire exhaust like I did then you absolutely need the Spec-D 2.5" cat/test pipe. The Dynamik header/downpipe combo(or pretty much any new header/downpipe for this car) replaces the existing exhaust manifold/cat(cat is mounted directly to exhaust manifold on this car) and also the existing downpipe, and this Spec-D catback is designed like any other...assuming you will be running a test pipe or under-car cat to put between the new catback and the new header/downpipe. Without the Spec-D 2.5" cat/test pipe you will not have a complete exhaust system. You will also have to extend the wiring for the second o2 sensor to go from the original cat location to the new, further back cat location. The second o2 will not work on the downpipe because it will hit the driver-side CV shaft boot and it can't go on the header because that's where the first o2 sensor goes. It also can't go on the new cat because it will be hitting shift linkages or pointing straight down to the ground(there are two o2 bungs on it). Stupid design. ... show more

  • MAKE YOUR HONDA SOUND LIKE A JET FIGHTER.
I bought this recently to finish off my Exhaust from the Header I had already installed of the same manufacturer. Welds were great, shipped quickly and safely,nothing broken or any damage and had all needed parts, bolts,nuts and gaskets. I reused My stock Catalytic Converter since it was perfectly fine and would meet up this exhaust system. There are three (3) bolts and nuts that mount the stock catalytic to the stock resonator. On my stock catalytic Those three (3) bolts were deformed and rusted to an un-torque-able shape. I had the convenience of doing this work at a MWR Autocraft shop with access to an Air cutter (Pneumatic rotary saw), if you do not have access to such a tool then this will be more difficult to complete the job. You can tell if this will be a problem for you buy getting under neath your car and locating the catalytic converter where it connects to the resonator and looking at the three bolts there. you have three options to solve this problem. Option 1. buy an appropriate size CARBIDE drill bit from lowes and drill out the three bolts. Option 2. If you have the time to spare then you can separate the catalytic and locate a machine shop nearby and have them drill out the three bolts for you for a fee. Option 3. Using an air cutter I first cut the resonator pipe close to where it meets the catalytic to simplify things. Then using the air cutter I cut along the indentation where the two pipes meet and separated them as evenly as possible. I then Ground down what was left of the three bolt heads, being careful to not grind through the catalytic converter metal itself. I then used the Air Cutter to cut thinly into the "middle point" of each remaining bolt while still in it's hole. by doing this I cut what is left of the bolt in half and then using a hammer and punch ;punch out what is left of the three bolts leaving three bolt holes and ready to be mated to the new Resonator! This worked perfectly fine and it all went together very well and No my EJ8 sounds like a Jet fighter when it hits 4K RPM and up! ... show more

  • So. Much. Sound.
Are you looking for something to attract attention from those girls? How about something to make that older lady shake her head in disappointment? Or maybe even something to scare unsuspecting kids playing in their front yards! Look no further! I installed this on my '98 Honda Civic LX with an unknown brand 4-1 header. It's stupid loud now and gets the attention of everybody within a half mile radius, even cops. There's a few downsides to having installed this. 1. It will make your c. converter flip out. Civics' are usually fuel efficient, yes. After installing this, that answer is no. My car now drinks gas like no other. There's always a check engine light on because the "catalyst efficiency is below threshold". 2. The piping is not long enough to fit a '98 Civic LX (sedan). I had to buy more pipe to make this fit. 3. It's a people magnet. I have folks take pictures and videos of my car while driving down the road because it's stickered up, and because the sound this thing puts out. People of all ages laugh and point. I recommend buying this if you feel you're not getting ridiculed enough. Yes, this product is still cooler than cool and provides some great sound, but you gotta want it first. I'll still rate this at 5 stars plus more, because I was looking for obnoxious sound. Rolling into a car meet makes everybody look at you, which is a nice feeling, especially if you're a girl (me). ... show more
