These work ok and stay closed so far. Bought these to replace a set that continually popped open which would sling stuff everywhere. Only issue of note is that the tips discolor once they hit the the dishwasher. I washed them immediately upon receipt and the black tips are now sort of gray. Not a big deal though. ... show more

My Last set did not have the scalloped edges as these do and it made it very hard to pick anything up or turn something over when cooking and as a result I hardly ever used them however these are really great at gripping the food without slipping out of the tong.
