To give some reference for my rating, when I enjoy a margarita at home I usually do two shots of Cabo Blanco and one of Ghost. So, I'm not a fan of the darker ones. I'm also not a sipping tequila person, so I cannot vouch for that taste. While not as spicy as Ghost, it does have a bit of spiciness. It also does not have the taste of the darker tequilas, if you are looking for that. But it is a nice, refreshing alternative for when I need to drive later. I've been suggesting it to my favorite restaurants as an additional choice to their spicy margaritas, so that I can enjoy more than one while out. Hopefully distributors on the east coast will start carrying it. I'm hoping that he might do a more spicy alternative in the future.

Trejo's Spirits alcohol Free Tequila is awful. If I could give it less then 1, I would. It tastes like water with pepper added. It is just awful. Don't order this product if you are looking for a Tequila alternative. Terrible.

Seeing as the ingredients are quite minimal, I wonder if I could make a non-alc tequila myself. It was a bit more expensive than other options out there on the market. However, this produces a good “burning” feeling with a bit of a peppery taste. I wouldn’t say take shots of this. But it makes a pretty good margarita. I’m not blown away but I am satisfied, this benign the first non alcoholic spirit I’ve tasted

I don't drink. I once tasted a margarita when I was a kid at a restaurant with my parents. That is my only experience with tequila. So why read this review? Because it is about how the stuff tastes and not how it compares. Too many reviews are about how it compares to actual booze. I don't care about that, I don't drink actual booze. This stuff smells great, and tastes great. It mixes well with other things to make a quite nice and refreshing beverage. It's complex in its flavors and sits well on the pallet. Totally worth it if what you are looking for is a fun beverage to make you feel grown up rather than just having a diet coke all the time. I don't want booze, but I also don't want to only have the same drinks over and over. Give this a try, I really think you will like it. Ignore it if what you want is booze.

I ordered the Tequila alternative because I wanted something for margaritas on a hot day without the alcohol. It arrived in nice packaging, but that's about the best thing I can say about it. I popped the cork and it smelled like hot garbage, literally, like a garbage can baking in the sun. I decided to give it a taste test. First off, it has the consistency of water (it's main ingredient) and the initial taste was similar to the smell but not horrible mixed, however, the aftertaste was just overpowering hot pepper. The smell was not great and the taste was like drinking a liquid red pepper flake. A good blanco tequila was much smoother than this, this was a sharp and obtrusive, like a really cheap tequila. Needless to say I won't be purchasing another bottle, I had high hopes for this, unfortunately, it did not live up to the expectation.
