Love this for my carpet. We have a long hair dog and I’m amazed at how much this picks up after I’ve vacuumed. Sometimes nice to just use on its own when I want a quick fix for his hair balls.

Versatile Carpet 'Groomer' and Squeegee, not really a Rake

I've got medium pile carpet and 4 cats. Vacuuming with a quality bagless machine cleans the carpet thoroughly and really does get all the hair (fills the cannister visibly). But afterwards the carpet looks flat in many spots that get high traffic and it *is* 5 years old now. One of my first jobs was as custodian cleaning dental offices. The last step was 'raking' the carpet for that fresh look when they opened the office the next day. This product gently fluffs some areas and definitely provides a better look, but it didn't gather any additional cat hair once I'd vacuumed and some areas still appear 'flat' - likely because the rubber tips aren't stiff enough to really grab. I tried using it on a room before I vacuumed and it did gather some hair from the surface, but not near the amount collected when I vacuum. Tip: for that true 'raked' look, I use a small outdoor rake only purchased to use indoors and gently drag through the flat areas. It pops them back up into shape and helps maintain a newer carpet appearance and better vacuuming function. The handle of this rubber broom is pretty sturdy with only a slight wiggle when applying heavy pressure. It's not enough of an issue but if ever became one I'd either tape the joints or glue gun them. :) Good value, good product.

Works amazing!

Didn't do a before an after... when I started using it I got so excited for how well it was working I just wanted to get it finished. I have a labradoodle... which he doesn't shed "much" however he sheds a little and I would always still find dog hair on the carpet when I was down doing my workouts (more specifically from other dogs I would dog sit) that the vacuum didn't pick up (not sure why) My mom had a carpet rake growing up and it was wooden handle with like a comb looking structure and that's what I was going for. However, I read the other reviews for this and heard some great things. 1. you NEED this if you have animals and carpet in your house 2. This pulls up hair that you wouldn't imagine is even there. 3. Makes your carpet look refreshed more then even a vacuum does I used this in all my rooms and then used the vacuum to suck up the hair... Even on my bath mats in the bathroom is worked WONDERS!!! If you're considering this GET IT! It will FOR SURE be a workout on its own especially if you have thicker tufted carpet but SO WORTH IT! (p.s. my mom is even getting one since she couldn't find her old one and she has a lab she'll get a lot of use from it)

Bent with time and use

I have been using this off and on for iver a year now. It does and ok job getting pet hair out of carpet. But, today as I was using it with my normal pressure it started to bend, and it bent pretty good. So, I guess I put to much pressure on it.

My wife has been using this to clean my (dog owning) father in law’s rugs. It impressed me and really did a phenomenal job on the rugs. Is this what this device is for? Beats me, but if you buy it you can do what you want with it.

Awesome broom!

I bought one of these very similar to this one about 20 years to 25 years ago at a trade show. It held up very well, until my son thought it would be a good idea to break the metal handle. Not exactly the broom's fault, but we loved it so much we wanted another. To be honest I was very leery of this one because of other reviews and the price. However once I received it and tested it, we found the handle to actually be stronger and better than the old one, and the material the broom bristles are made of is exactly the same. The one at the trade show if I'm not mistaken was about $50, and like I say that was 20 to 25 years ago. Considering I only paid 10 bucks for this one, I'll be happy if it only lasts a year or two. But based on the quality I'm seeing so far having used it a few days, I have no reason to think I won't get 10 years or more out of it. If it ever does fail I'll update this, but I really don't expect to have to. Right now this stands as a product I will highly recommend.
