I've got medium pile carpet and 4 cats. Vacuuming with a quality bagless machine cleans the carpet thoroughly and really does get all the hair (fills the cannister visibly). But afterwards the carpet looks flat in many spots that get high traffic and it *is* 5 years old now. One of my first jobs was as custodian cleaning dental offices. The last step was 'raking' the carpet for that fresh look when they opened the office the next day. This product gently fluffs some areas and definitely provides a better look, but it didn't gather any additional cat hair once I'd vacuumed and some areas still appear 'flat' - likely because the rubber tips aren't stiff enough to really grab. I tried using it on a room before I vacuumed and it did gather some hair from the surface, but not near the amount collected when I vacuum. Tip: for that true 'raked' look, I use a small outdoor rake only purchased to use indoors and gently drag through the flat areas. It pops them back up into shape and helps maintain a newer carpet appearance and better vacuuming function. The handle of this rubber broom is pretty sturdy with only a slight wiggle when applying heavy pressure. It's not enough of an issue but if ever became one I'd either tape the joints or glue gun them. :) Good value, good product.

I have been using this off and on for iver a year now. It does and ok job getting pet hair out of carpet. But, today as I was using it with my normal pressure it started to bend, and it bent pretty good. So, I guess I put to much pressure on it.

I have 2 dogs. One is an Australian shepherd and he SHEDS like crazy! For years I have gone through so many vacuums, carpet fresheners, giant lint rollers to try and get all of the dog hair off of my carpet to no avail. With my 8 month old on the verge of crawling and walking I was desperate to find a solution for getting up all the dog hair and i did my research and came upon this product. This is by far the most effective product I have used to get all of the hair. I absolutely love it! I highly recommend this product. It’s my most favorite cleaning tool in my house now! I bought a second one to use outside as well. It works on all of my door mats and the concrete on my front porch and I even get cobwebs down with it. 10/10 I highly recommend!
