I picked this up because I needed a new broom, and honestly, even without pets, it's pretty great. What I really like is how effective it is on fine dust. I've tried a few different brooms, and they usually just leave the super fine stuff scattered around. This one actually collects those smaller particles well, which is a huge plus for my kitchen floor. The broom is a little heavier than I expected, which is maybe the only minor downside. But it does a great job, so I can live with it. I do like the extra features on the dustpan. Being able to step on the back and keep it sealed to the floor is nice and helpful—no more sweeping a line of dirt underneath the lip! The combs on the side that clean off the bristles are also a nice touch, even when I'm just dealing with regular hair and fuzz. If you have inside pets, I could not recommend this enough. I have three indoor dogs, a lab and two German shorthair pointers who shed like crazy. The comb made on the dustpan is helpful to keep hair from being stuck in the broom bristles after every use. Not to mention that the dustpan doesn’t require you to bend over, which I love!
