  • Great starter saddle
This saddle is a great price for getting into saddle hunting. It is exceptionally good quality and comfortable. Plenty of adjustment to fit smaller and larger builds. The accessory loops and molle are great features. The only down side is the bridge rope is not great and doesn’t feel as safe as I would prefer so I replaced it with some climbing rope and it works great now. ... show more

  • The rewards can be substantial, making saddle hunting a thrilling and effective
The unique mobility and versatility offered by a saddle can enhance the hunting experience, while also presenting certain challenges that require consideration. Below, I have explored the advantages and disadvantages of using a saddle for hunting, providing insight for both new and seasoned hunters. One of the standout advantages of a saddle is the mobility it provides. Unlike traditional tree stands, which can be restrictive in terms of positioning and movement, saddles allow hunters the freedom to adjust their posture and angle dynamically. This enhanced mobility can lead to better shot opportunities, as hunters are able to pivot, lean, and shift their weight to create the ideal angle for taking aim. The ability to adjust quickly to the movement of wildlife is a game-changer and can significantly improve success rates. For those who enjoy venturing deep into the woods to find the perfect hunting spot, the lightweight and compact nature of saddle kits is a considerable advantage. Saddle kits typically weigh significantly less than traditional tree stands and take up minimal space in a pack. This is particularly crucial for long hikes, where every ounce matters. The ease of transport makes it much more feasible to travel to those hard-to-reach areas where many game animals dwell. The adaptability of saddles to various tree sizes and shapes is another key advantage. Through adjustable straps and platforms, saddles can be easily modified to fit different environments, enabling hunters to set up in a wider range of locations. This versatility means that hunters can find suitable trees in less-than-ideal spots, expanding their options when seeking out the perfect vantage point. Now the down side While the benefits of saddle hunting are compelling, it’s important to acknowledge the learning curve associated with using one. Proper setup and use are essential for comfort and safety, which can initially be daunting for new saddle hunters. Without adequate practice practice practice and knowledge, there is a risk of discomfort or even unsafe situations. This steep learning curve may deter some hunters from fully embracing this method. One common complaint among saddle users is discomfort during prolonged use. If a saddle is not properly adjusted, or if a hunter is not accustomed to the leaning position for extended periods, it can lead to a less enjoyable experience. It's crucial for users to take the time to find the right fit and practice sitting in the saddle to ensure greater comfort when it counts. High-quality saddle kits can represent a significant investment compared to traditional tree stands. While the price can be justified by the advantages provided, it can still be a barrier for novice hunters or those on a tight budget. Potential buyers should weigh the long-term benefits against the upfront cost when considering a purchase. Overall, hunting saddles offer a unique blend of mobility, lightweight design, and versatility that many hunters find advantageous. However, the learning curve, potential for discomfort, and initial financial outlay are significant considerations that should not be overlooked. For those willing to invest time in practice and adjustment, the rewards can be substantial, making saddle hunting a thrilling and effective alternative to traditional methods. Ultimately, the decision to switch to a saddle should be based on personal preferences and hunting styles, ensuring a tailored experience that enhances each outing. ... show more

  • The newest fad in hunting
Tree saddles are the new in thing to be in when you are hunting. You will need knee pads and also some climbing sticks, but it is the fastest and lightest way to hunt most areas.

  • Comfortable and stable
Very nice saddle. Very lightweight and comfortable to wear and sit in. Feel very safe as it is a sturdy and stable construction. Vent in the bottom is a nice touch if you get hot there

  • Perfect for beginners
This tree saddle is a really game changer. Instead of being stuck visiting the same old tree stand year after year because it's too cumbersome to tear down and set up elsewhere, this hunting saddle gives me the mobility and opportunity to follow the trails, explore, and pick a suitable tree. How awesome is that? The saddle is very comfortable, and I prefer it to a tree stand because I literally get a 360 degree view for a shot instead of pointing in one direction. Be sure to adjust your saddle for a comfortable fit before dedicating yourself into a spot, because if your saddle isn't fitting right, you're not going to have a good time. This saddle is incredibly lightweight, making it easy to carry out. The build is of great quality, as is the material. I'm very impressed, especially considering the price is so reasonable. I highly recommend this tree saddle. I did get a better rope for mine. ... show more

  • Bigger, ventilated bucket for more comfort
This review is for the Gen2 bucket that fits American rear ends. There are several others that have smaller buckets and look almost the same. Gen2 not only has the bigger bucket, but also has a ventilated section, making it more comfortable in several ways. The bridge should be made of regular kernmantle line to provide more friction and easier release to the prusik. This is sold with and without the shoulder straps, but you should definitely get the one with shoulder straps, which makes these much more comfortable and keeps things from falling down while walking. This Gen2 model is certainly better than the other economy models and also better than the original model without mesh in the rear, but after trying several of these from different manufacturers, I think the gen3 with bigger bucket and shoulder straps may be the one to keep. ... show more

  • A very comfortable saddle at a wallet friendly price!
This is the most important part of a saddle hunting setup and this saddle is very comfortable while also feeling very strong and well made. I don't have any concerns with it while climbing or hanging from my favorite trees waiting on a whitetail. It offers a lot of adjustments, so be sure to take the time on the ground to get it really dialed in. ... show more
