Okay so I would actually give these a 4 star rating in a fair market, but Amazon ratings is becoming far from perfect with ratings. They are very loud, have exceptional bass, and stay put in your ears. I have let others borrow them and everyone seems to say the same thing. The are not noise cancellation ear buds, the are passive noise canceling which means nothing at all. Also the white ones don’t look as good as they do in the pics, they look a little cheaper than advertised. But all in all I put them as the one of the best I have ever had and I have way to many head phones ... show more

    • Very nice with one really big problem

These feel nice and soft, fit well with good sound isolation and secure grip (at least for my ears). Battery seems to last the advertised 8-9 hours (I didn't time it with a stopwatch). When pairing, it took about 20 seconds for it to show up as a valid bluetooth device, but it worked mostly fine after pairing. Twice in two days of use I got a random disconnect followed immediately by a reconnect. Range is fantastic. Paired with my laptop upstairs, I could walk all around my house without any dropouts or loss of connection. I ended up returning them for one main reason: The sound sucks. If you like bass-heavy sound, these might work for you. But it doesn't just emphasize the bass, it almost completely kills the high frequencies. The single-ear Motorola bluetooth headset I use for phone calls has clearer sound. I tried compensating for it by turning up the treble and lowering the bass, but that resulted in some pretty bad distortion. Another reviewer said the treble range opened up after playing high-pitched sound over it for a few hours. I tried that without success. The only way I could make the sound acceptable was by installing Equalizer APO and doing some careful fine-tuning with a 15-band equalizer. That made them usable with my PC, but still useless with my phone or tablet. On those devices it sounds like you're using a paper cup to listen to sound in the next room. It's a shame because except for this flaw, I think they've got a real winner here. I don't mind emphasizing the bass, but losing the treble in the process makes them just useless. Other minor problems I encountered. - The occasional disconnect I mentioned. Wasn't able to reproduce it so I don't know what caused it. - Changing the volume on the headphones does not change the volume of the settings announcements. I found the default (only) level to be uncomfortably loud. - The micro-USB charging port cover seems a little flimsy, and the attachment point is very close so the charging cable bends it back at a sharp angle (almost 180 degrees). Losing the cover would compromise the waterproofness. - Manufacturer insists on advertising these as having passive noise cancellation. There is no such thing as passive noise cancellation. That is just deceptive marketing techno-babble for noise isolation. The (active) noise cancellation in these headphones is in reference to the microphone pickup. (I did not test them with phone calls since without an equalizer the sound quality was so bad the other party was muffled and unintelligible). ... show more

I have to say that I have had these for 1 week now and have been really, really impressed. I usually only buy very tested and very expensive products. I have always been a firm believer that you get what you pay for. That is not true in this case because I ended up with so much more. This is a relatively young and not yet hugely marketed company. The only reason that I even considered purchasing this product was because my brother-in-law has a pair and loves them. Both my brother-in-law and myself are soldiers and serious athletes. We wake up and run, then go to work, then spend 3 hours in the gym. These headphones have literally improved my quality of life. Pro's: Very Water resistant Great design Good Color Options Come with multiple ear pieces Come with Charging Cable Come with Awesome Carrying case Affordable 1-yr warranty Able to buy 4 year warranty for $7 (buy this or you're an idiot) Volume controls on earpiece Great call reception and Clarity (on both ends) They feel quality They come with a clip to keep the wire together Tangle free Great sound (can be adjusted with EQ settings on phone) They get loud, very loud Noise canceling They stay in place when you run!!! Awesome Battery Life Very Quick charge time Fantastic Bluetooth range (I set my phone in the middle of the gym and am able to get all of my lifts in without moving it. We're talking a good 30 yards worth of range). Cons: They don't get as quiet as I would like, like low is still kind of loud. That's it people. Like I said, you get so much more than you pay for here. I literally cannot fathom why someone would dish out $200 for a pair of beats. If these things break, I'll claim the warranty, when the warranty runs out I'll throw them away and buy a new pair and I won't be sad about it because that means I just got 4 awesome years out of my $30. Try them out, Amazon is one of the best companies in the world and will allow you to return them for up to 30 days no hassle. If you buy them you'll keep them. But seriously back to the beats thing, if you buy beats you're doing it to look cool at the gym, that's it. I have had beats and they were stolen, not worth the hassle as there is no noticible difference.
