  • So much fun.
It's pretty big. My first high end RC car, and it took a bit to learn to race it. In fact, I broke it the first day I acquired it, pushing its limits. I stuffed two 5000 LiPo batteries in it. And make no mistake, this thing is a Land Missile. I spend a bit of time sliding down the street upside down after gunning it too hard and flipping it over from the power. I may need to put a wheelie bar on it. An absolute joy to drive, couldn't wipe the smile off my face, even after I broke a steering knuckle and shock. 5 stars. ... show more

  • Not engineered for 6S power.
Ok if your going to just put around but if you actually drive it as it is marketed you will be upgrading LOTS of parts. The stock spur gear and front and rear diff gears are junk pot metal. Had to spend $150 for all 3 hardend gears so it actually doesn't break. These should have came stock with the truck. I own the 6s Kraton exb and have had way less problems. ... show more

  • Insane speed and performance & TRAXXAS durability
Been in the R/C game for a long time & have nothing but good things to say about Traxxas vehicles & Traxxas customer service/support. When the SLEDGE was released I snapped it up immediately. I have the X-Maxx, but wanted something with a similar footprint that was more agile and not as top heavy. Don’t get me wrong, I love the X-Maxx & will ALWAYS have one in my R/C collection. The Sledge is fast and fun on 4S, but with 6S it is crazy fast!! This thing really rips, 50+ out of the box is no problem whatsoever. Make sure the kids, pets & grandma are at a safe distance when you clamp the throttle on this beast. I love doing speed runs on pavement, but bashing or racing in the dirt on 4S power is so much fun that I loose track of time. In a racing situation on track, it handles really nice after some little tweaks to get it dialed in for your driving style & track conditions, even with the stock tires it handles well on packed dirt. Jumps are a thing of beauty and landings are super smooth with its super plush suspension. The Sledge enters and exits turns really like a winner. I was surprised to see how at home it is on a track. NOW..if you don’t care about any of that and just want a kick azz basher that can take a serious beating and come back for more, look no further. I’m not going to recommend that you launch it 2O, 30 feet in the air off ramps at your local skate park or back yard, but I have done all that & IF I land on all fours it ALMOST always drives away with no damage. 90% of all my driving with the Sledge is in the dirt and on short grass, lots of jumps and bashing, just having a great time rippin it up with friends. That’s what it’s all about for me. Traxxas has excellent customer service & parts are easy to find and not expensive. I have loved the Sledge from the very first run & can easily recommend it. For those of you that are looking at similar from Arrma, the Keaton is another good Truggy that I can recommend, however, parts are a little more expensive. Choose your poison & let er rip! 🏁✌🏼 ... show more

  • Horrible
I am going to get right to the point. This is the worst rc vechile on the market. I was foolish enough to get caught up in the marketing ploy for this vechile so much so that I traded a Talion Exb for a brand new Sledge. This was actually my 2nd Sledge. The first Sledge encountered a critical systems error on only it's fourth run. I then went back to the hobby shop and traded it for an XRT which also had issues. I then decided to give it another go so I went back and traded my perfectly good Talion exb for a brand new vastly inferior Sledge. This Sledge overheats in mild driving conditions and squeals like there is no tomorrow. I have tried adjusting the gear mesh and have even bought upgraded gears. Nothing works. You need earplugs to drive this thing and there is zero smoothness to it. It feels like a grossly compromised piece of junk to put it mildly. I took apart the front and center differentials and saw that it is poorly constructed. Again, buying this vechile is a tremendous risk and I woulf absolutely not do so if I were you. To charge $700 for this is obnoxious given the lack of quality you get back. Again, there is no way to drive this thing anywhere given the ridiculous screeching not to mention surges and cogging. It is literally torture to drive this. To think I wasted resources to torture myself? I have to have my head examined. One of the top 3 worst purchases of anything thar I have ever made. ... show more
