I got it for my 11 year old on his birthday. he had a Tamiya Sand Viper which is fun but low to the ground. This Slash Rocks - its high up stiff suspension and I have it on training mode and its as fast as the Tamiya. I still love the old buggy look of the Tamiyas - but the ready to run - was better for my younger kids - assembling an RC is a great experience, but not quite at 8-11 its too much ... The customer support at TRAXXAS is like ritz Carlton also - I mean just amazing hours and knowledge - it makes a huge different- I then bought a small crawler b/c I was so impressed with the dealers, parts inventory and 1-800 number for tech support which we needed as the car and the handheld was not paired up properly. I also bought the insurance for 3 years - just in case something breaks - maybe that was unnecessary. but for $40, why not. I typically don't buy the insurance - but figured this fast truck in the hands of an 11 year old boy - could make sense... ... show more

    • fast, drifts, and amazing suspension
i have jumped rolled and smashed this thing alot and it wont break. it is an outstanding product if u want a non squirly drifty sporty offroad rc car

    • Powerful motors
For some reason wheel alignment on the peace that I got is not good, it’s always drifting sideways though tuned in all possible ways to make is align, Which is a mechanical error. Except that product is packed with best motors, it’s 0 - 20 miles acceleration is impressive.
