  • This thing is a blast!
The mini ERevo is the first hobbyist grade, vs: toy grade RC car I’ve ever owned. I did a little research and settled on the mini ERevo because it got overall high marks for bashability, and being able to survive anything you throw at it within reason. First off, this car is fast, Traxxas claims 30 mph on a paved surface with a single 7.2 volt battery and about 50 mph with dual batteries in series. And while I have no way to measure it, I also have no reason to doubt their claims, like I said, it’s fast. I haven’t purchased a series connector for the car, and I don’t know that I will. 30 mph is plenty fast for me and what I do with it, which is just have fun. My driveway is 175 feet long and the ERevo will cover then entire length of it in 6-7 seconds. The other reason I purchased the ERevo is the full time 4 wheel drive, since the only convenient paved place I have to run it is my driveway, I wanted something that could handle running through grass without difficulty. My grass is about 3 inches long right now with a lot of leaf clutter and the ERevo blasts through it at probably 20-25 mph, no problem. I get between 12-20 minutes of runtime from a single battery, depending on how hard I’m running the car. Jumps, oh yeah, it jumps. I glomed together a couple of ramps out of scrap particle board and left them out in the rain to get a good bend to them, like a skate park ramp. The ERevo will launch itself 4-5 feet in the air and keep right on trucking if it lands on it’s wheels. You can speed up or slow down it’s end over end rotation by varying the throttle, once you get the hang of it, you can land it on it’s wheels every time. Flying 4-5 feel up and landing is no challenge at all. Google mini ERevo bashing and you’ll find footage of people taking these cars to skate parks and launching them 10 feet in the air, they land and just keep on trucking. In addition to being fast, the little sucker is tough. I’ve probably wrecked mine 200 times by now. Hitting things near full speed, barrel rolls, endos, things I can’t even describe. So far, all I’ve had to do was adjust the wheel alignment a bit. The best thing is when I do eventually break something, everything on the car is replaceable, which is the great thing about hobby grade vs: toy grade. It’s skidded down the blacktop driveway upside down I don’t know how many times and the body still looks great, sure there’s a few scuffs, but that’s it. Nothing major, no significant cosmetic damage. It comes with 1 battery, a low end charger, the remote, five or six body clips, and the car itself. The charger is a DC only affair, you have to plug it into a cigarette lighter jack in your car to charge the batteries, or hook it up to a 12 volt power supply, which is what I did. It takes 20 minutes or so to charge a battery. The controller has a “stability” knob. It does things like help keep the car going straight, and keeping you from flipping it if you hake a hard turn at high speed. I normally keep it set about ½ way up. If I want to do donuts and power-slides and bootlegger turns, etc, I turn it down, if I want to blast around fast without flipping over, I turn it up. It works pretty well. The suspension on the car is fully adjustable, you can adjust spring pre-load and ride height easily, you can change the dampening by changing the viscosity of the oil in the shocks. Caster, camber, toe-in and out are all adjustable. If you really want to get into the weeds you can change the viscosity of the oil in the differentials and adjust the slipper clutch to modify the front/rear power distribution. It’s kind of crazy how much you can tune the car. All things considered I give the car 5 stars. I’m not a serious RC hobbyist, if I was I might find more things I don’t like about the car, but for me, it’s just about perfect and a blast to play with. Buy it, it's fun, also, get extra body clips, they do get lost/trashed and a couple extra batteries. ... show more

  • Not perfect, BUT a great truck!!
The mini revo is a great truck! but it is not without its flaws! Shim the diffs, swap out the shocks ( or fix the factory ones) as they tend to leak! And address the bearing/axle carriers and this truck is hard to beat!

  • The most fun mini-sized hobby grade RC
I’ve wanted a mini E-Revo for several years now and finally pulled the trigger on this one. It packs a lot of fun into a very small package. Of course it’s not without it’s small faults, but that’s just the nature of the hobby. In my opinion, Traxxas makes the most fun mini-sized vehicles. If you’re going to buy one, buy the VXL brushless model. Don’t waste your money on the cheaper brushed version. Buy a few batteries as well since the battery included with this truck doesn’t last all that long. Invest in a smart charger that can handle lipos and you will have tons more fun than using the Stock battery setup. ... show more

  • Great little car that can.
Ok so although a smaller car compared to a 1/10 scale it’s a lot of fun, fast and can be driven in just about any ground. I love that it can hold 2 batteries if you want to invest in extra batteries and purchase the connectors. I am not a huge basher so I prefer a parallel connector which alllows the car to run longer. I bought the same batteries to match the one the car came with. Got about 30 min run time so about 15 min if use just the single battery. The one I got said blue to purchase but I ended with the one I wanted (at time was sold out) which was the orange/purple. So I love that myself. Why a 4 star. My only gripe is that the charger that comes with the rc car is one that you need a dc plug (car plug). I would have preferred one that can plug into a regular house socket. And I guess as a second gripe, no AA batteries for remote. Other then those 2 things I love it. I love that traxxas has a system that you can change to have the car run even slower (training mode). It also came with a gear piece to swap out if you want to run the car faster. Which you do by buying better batteries and or a series connector. So make sure if you intend to do that, change out the gear or you can damage the motor. The car being 4wd like I said, it can go on just about any ground. And does great. One thing at least with default battery (the Nimh) is that when the battery dies it goes fast. The car was zipping around the whole time and then just dropped. So keep that in mind if you are out playing and running the car at a distance. Might not make it back to you if it dies out. As for distance. Have not maxed it out yet. Have gone pretty decent though. Have had it about a half block to a block away. Much better then the cheaper rc cars that might go 25’ away. Overall if you are looking at a rc car and this one. It’s a great car to own. Small but packs a punch. Out of box it says about 30 mph. I don’t have a speed gun but it does go fast. So if new or have someone new going to use, look up how to put in training mode. I also believe that it will stay in that mode until you change it back. I believe that mode makes it about half the speed. Not sure if that makes it last longer for run time. A few extra things. I suggest getting some extra batteries. At least 2-3 extra. I picked up 3. As the car comes with 1 already. A parallel connector if you want to run 2 batteries and have the car run longer. Or series for faster speeds. A ac to dc converter so you can use the battery charger inside a house with a regular 2 prong socket. And maybe even a traxxas ez peak charger. This will help maintain your batteries plus an extra charger station. ... show more

  • Buy it!
As with most traxxas products this one is built well. It comes with a 7.2v nimh battery which is fine but a (2S)7.4v lipo is better. Get one ASAP. Don't bother going up to a 3S, it'll be too fast to be controllable. Great fun for anyone with rc experience.

  • How fast it is out if the box
Its so fast right out of the box it has to be the best 1/16 rc car ever made.

  • Priority.. new servo first thing
It's a fun car, I just opened it and drove it up my drive way which is smooth and the servo its junk, disappointed that traxxas cant used a good servo but it's a fun car all in all
