Traxxas uses some pretty weak parts in all there vehicles that will need upgrades.

The Traxxas TRX4 is an awesome RC and is very capable and has great potential. However, I have had to replace the electronics within a month of use, which increases the cost by more than $100. The Electronic Speed Control (ESC XL-5) quit the first week, and the motor (Titan 21T 550) quit after 2 or 3 weeks. I expect to have to replace parts over time, but these parts failed under light use. Really unacceptable at this price range. Update after a year: In total, l've had to replace the motor twice and the ESC once. The front bumper broke too, but it was an opportunity to upgrade.
