  • The car's great - but what's the naked review guy about?
Why is that guy posing with the car in his underwear? What's really going on in these reviews?

  • 3 out of 5 coming out the box
This is an honest review. I've owned the DBXLE 2.0 for over a year now. The reason for 3 stars is quality control right out the box. Shocks will need to be replaced almost immediately they leak really bad, the bearings on this thing tend to go out fast I recommend replacing with hybrid bearings. Also, lose parts and lose screws. For 1200$ the quality control sucks. This car will need to be inspected upon opening + proper tightening of screws ext. Will need alot of man hours(and money) if trying to upgrade ... show more

  • The Best Losi
This car is huge. its also very heavy at about 32lbs. Hopefully you have a hatchback or back seat liner to transport it. With all these cars it is your responsibility to tighten the screws and check the pinion gear when you get it. I used semi perm locktite on my pinion gear right away. Treat this as a bashable electric vehicle, dont launch it unless you check it. I havent had any issues with this car otherwise. It is very quick and very durable and is great fun. as a 32lbs vehicle I am sure if it hit a dog or human serious injury would occur so please be careful. I know I ripped it on my block and a Jaywalking dog walker was almost victim status. I actually enjoy taking this on path hikes as more of a vehicle leading the way unless i go to the local course/dunes. If you want a huge heavy fast af beast that runs great and looks amazing buy this. It is huge. I use spectrum 4s smart batteries x2 so plan on 2 sets of 2 4s batteries [like $500] to get a good run with this. [20 to 30 min each set] This car as large as it is disappears at a ballsball diamond from 1st to 2nd plate. its very fast. I love mine. J ... show more

  • Too much fun
I also own a Arrma Kraton 8S 1/5th scale and the Losi DBXL-E 2.0 is a much better Truggy/Buggy. The steering is much better, comes with a better remote. Everything about this buggy is great. I really like the hinged body, that really helps keep the inside of the buggy clean. All of the dirt & mud that is thrown off the front tires is blocked b.y the body so it doesn't get inside and the 2 people sitting in the cockpit also helps to keep mud out. It cuts down on washing it off with the garden hose in half when compared to the open wheel wells that most trucks, truggies and buggies have. I've bought dust covers for my Arrma Kraton 8s, Senton 4x4 brushless and Traxxas Slash VXL 4x4, I see no need to get one for this buggy. It's been pretty tough too. My brother in-law broke the plastic turnbuckle end but that was after many bad landings on jumps 8-10 ft high and 12-15 ft long on uneven terrain. He really launched it and it landed nose down on the front left wheel. On the same outing and jump the rear lower A-Arm on the Kraton 8S broke on a perfect landing, luckily I had an extra one from when I had to buy a 2 pack from the last time I broke one. If I could have took both the Losi DBXL-E 2.0 & the ARRMA Kraton 8S out for a test drive before buying, I'd pick the Losi every time. Yes it's $200 more but I think it's a much better looking, with better features like the hinged body that only uses 2 body pins vs 4, the turning radius is way tighter than the Kraton especially under throttle. A Harley Davidson has a better turning radius than the Kraton does. Another convenient feature this buggy has is the location of the on-off button. With all my other 1/5, 1/10, 1/12, 1/14, 1/16 scale trucks truggies and buggies you either have to completely remove the body or bend the crap out of it to reach the on-off button or switch. With this buggy you don't have to do any of that, it's nice and easy to see and reach. I was a little skeptical on how well the light bar would hold up in a crash that fear was unfounded so far. 1 more than a handful of occasions it's landed on its lid or flipped over and slid on it's lid and the light still works. The multi piece body change the hold up much better than the single piece body's. All of my 10th scale or larger vehicles that have a single piece body have multiple cracks. I also found it to be much easier to handle in mid air making it much easier to land on all 4 tires vs the Kraton 8S. I like it enough that I think my next purchase will be another Losi, the Super Rock Rey V2. Oh I almost forgot the wing on the DBXL-E 2.0 is weak! I accidentally reversed into a pine tree (tree diameter 3 inches) going maybe 4-5 mph and broke the end off. I'll add pics & video after my next outing to the same jump that broke the turnbuckle. To replace the turnbuckle you either have to buy a complete set of 6 & spend $58 or do as I did and upgrade the 2 that handle the steering to aluminum for $29. ... show more

  • It's expensive but worth it if you can get it.
I love the size and how it looks. This thing is fast out of the box. It can take flip or two at full speed multiple times. It only got a crack in the fine on the back that I fixed with some JB weld. It is very fun and draws a crowd. I would buy it again if I needed too.
