This is replacing a hard side bag. Didn’t like the hard side. Haven’t used this yet but it feels lightweight. Has outside pockets which, of course the hard side does not have. the expandable part seems larger at one end due to slant of bag I guess. I haven’t used this yet, but it moves easily, seems sturdy and looks like it will have a good amount of room to pack, especially with the expandable part. it has lots of inner and outer pockets for organization. The zippers seem sturdy. Seems much smaller than the 21 inch Kensington, London fog bag. That was my favorite but the wheels were apparently damaged by the airline and now they don’t make it anymore. I am giving away the 21 in hard side bag I bought and took one trip with. I really don’t like hard side bags. I never had one before but I miss the outside pockets and the give that a soft side bag has. I haven’t used this yet, but I’m hoping it will last as long as my old Kensington London fog bag.! That lasted seven years before the airlines wrecked the wheels. The London fog bag was plaid. This bag is blue – very attractive. Plus, I found that the wheelchair people at the airport who kindly helped me get my bag at baggage claim did not understand what plaid was. So I’m going to take a picture of my bag so they will know what it looks like. Although a solid blue is easier to identify for those not familiar with patterns, and non-English speakers. I purchased the Travel Pro Max lite 5 Soft side Azure Blue 25” bag for a weekend road trip. It is very light weight, has very good maneuverability, & a lot of space. I hope that the 19” Azure Blue Max lite 5 Soft side bag becomes available again. It would be a great size for weekend trips especially if using compression cubes as well as for International Travel as a Carry On. I also have the Travel Pro Max lite 5 soft side in the 22”, & 29” in this Azure Blue set. I would like to have the 19” to complete our set. I may even purchase 2, 19” so that my husband & I could both have one. I hope it becomes available again. Airlines are becoming more restrictive All the time about the dimensions for Carry On type of bags & asking for more dollars for checked bags. Thank you!

The size of the TravelPro Maxlite 5 Compact Carry-on 20” is exactly as stated. (I measured it). Which means that it’s very small for a 5 day trip. This carry on meets the size limits of Hawaiian Airlines. I didn’t check it in, so I can’t comment on it’s durability at being thrown around. All I did was put it in the car, wheel it to the gate, put it in the overhead bin, wheel it to my hotel room, and vice versa. It survived. This is my 1st spinner bag. I had a 2-wheeler which always tipped over, so I wanted 4 wheels to prevent tipping. I expected this not to tip at all, but it did tip over once at the airport. Of course right in front of TSA check point. So, it’s not 100% tip-proof. Pros: -very lightweight -rolls easily on flat surfaces -doesn’t tip most of the time -seems durable enough (strong zippers zipped, powerscope handle went up and down, carry handles seem strong, softside is strong material which didn’t rip, wheels didn’t break, hold straps worked inside) Cons: -I aired it out for a whole week in the garage and backyard. Still has strong odor. -rollers got caught on some cracked/stone walkways -the expandable feature is a joke. It’s only about 1.5”x8.5” expanding. Maybe 1 pair of W sized 12 jeans. The reason is that only a portion of the bottom expands; the top 1/2 of the suitcase tapers to “non-expanding”. This case does not deserve ‘expandable’ in the description. -when you open the suitcase on a rack, the lid does not stay straight open. Because the bag tapers, the lid is at an odd angle and it falls over. I didn’t like this at all. It seems that after a lot of traveling you are putting stress on the lid hinge and it won’t last long. Plus, it kept falling over and doesn’t stay open. -the front pocket is almost useless. I couldn’t fit my paperback book in it. Overall, the case is ok. It’s not perfect, and I think it’s overpriced. I was disappointed in the so-called expandable feature and i don’t like that the lid doesn’t stay straight open. But it should serve it’s purpose and hopefully it lasts for a long time.

I chose Travelpro because I have noticed that's what most flight attendants carry and now I know why. The bags are top quality, extremely light, full of practical features and quite good looking. The Travelpro Maxlite 5 Softside spinner combined with the Travelpro Travelpro Maxlite Lightweight Laptop Backpack make the ultimate carry-on combo. I have traveled domestically as well as internationally and the 2 bags meet carry-on requirements. The backpack has a strap that allows you to slide it over the handle of the spinner so it sits on top nicely. The 2 together make a great looking and pratical set. Between the 2 bags I can pack enough for 2 weeks of travel (I travel for pleasure, I travel casually and not for business and typically to warmer climates). Although, recently went to Germany for 2 weeks in May and was able to pack a light and heavy jacket. If I were to travel for more than 2 weeks I would need to either do laundry sometime mid trip or check a larger bag which I would prefer not to do.

This is our go-to suitcase model. In fact, we got this to replace my spouse’s on-it’s-last-legs 25-year old model. . These last so long that the old ones we have are from a time when the only colors were blue or black. So I’m taking the new (purple!) one and giving hubs mine (about 10 years old and still in great shape). This was an ‘Amazon Warehouse’ purchase - which means it was somewhat damaged so the price was reduced. the condition was better than expected from the description, and I have no regrets!.
