I ordered this and couldn't believe the speed of delivery - lightning fast. I was hesitant about the price and debated for quite some time before the purchase, but am now convinced it is well worth it for the abundance of information and the amount of research that has gone into this. You would NOT want to purchase a Fifth Wheel (or trailer) blindly, as you may likely end up with something you are unhappy with or is of poor quality. I started reading the evening I received the book, and am extremely happy with what I have learned in just a few hours. One thing I learned is that you need to understand how you will use the RV to get an idea of the price / quality involved / required. A neighbor had highly recommended a particular 5th wheel to me. I value direct recommendations like that, but have now learned that RV would not be of the quality necessary for my planned usage. Bottom line - BUY THIS BOOK and do as much research as possible. I am sure it will pay you much more than the cost of the book in the long run. Talk about great customer service. I sent an email to [email protected] late in the evening, with a request. The next morning was a response email with my request fulfilled. What a surprise and great service. Well - now back to my reading and studies as I still have TONS to learn.     • Book is a great Coach when Purchasing a Fifth Wheel in this confusing world of ever-changing manufacturers.

It amazes me the money people spend on fifth wheels that don't do any research before hand. I can't be happier for at least knowing some basics about the industry before laying down big money. I work in a "gypsy" community of pipeliners and we travel all over whenever the phone rings, so it's' important to know the quality behind the pretty looks and whether or not the construction can keep you comfortable in the wind swept winter plains of Wyoming or the dead heat in the middle of an Arizona desert in August after monsoons. My buddy, a crane hand going to work out of state, figures he saved about $10k with the advice he took out of the book. A side note: Just want to say thanks to RV Reviews. I was working in Texas this past summer when I purchased the book and there was a mix up with the mail, which often happens when you're working out of town, and it got returned back to them. They resent it to me at no cost. How many times does that happen in this world? Thanks again! ... show more

    • Worthwhile Reading this guide before buying a Fifth Wheel RV

I liked this comparison guide . I am totally new to the RV world and don't know (or didn't) anything about the manufacturers.I am interested in purchasing a 5th wheel , being an avid researcher before I buy I found the book extremely helpful in understanding the different manufacturers and the quality of the products offered. I have the book out , underlining all the points I am interested in . It has focused me on the type of fifth wheel and the quality of the product I am looking for. It does a great job at all I need and gives me the confidence to move to the next step in buying. I could not seem to find much independent information on line before I found this guide . This book starts out explaining how various RVs are constructed and then utterly fails to describe the construction of the numerous companies it "reviews." A waste of money.

I was sceptical of this book, but have come to appreciate the content. I recommend this for anyone looking to get into a travel trailer or fifth wheel. I really appreciated all of the sections in the book. It is apparent this author has done extensive research that it just not practical for any individual on their own. We will certainly do our own due diligence in research, but this book has provided that extra depth that I am using, not only as an educational tool, but also a reference tool to assist me in my own course of investigation of companies and products. I was very hesitant given the price, but I am glad I made the purchase. ... show more

My husband and I are looking to purchase a trailer. Our first step was to the sales office of two RV dealerships. After looking at a number of trailers, we realized that our knowledge was sorely lacking in this area. We went home and searched for on-line information to compare different trailer manufacturers. This book was listed as being a trailer comparison book. We purchased it and it has turned out to be much more than that. There are questions concerning how you are going to use your trailer, a chapter on construction (who would think to look under the trailer?), and an excellent listing of as many trailer manufacturers and their trailers as possible. Included in this book is more additional information to help with the selection process. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is thinking of purchasing a trailer or fifth wheel. ... show more

    • Overpriced and Short on "Comparisons" of Actual RV's
Format: Hardcover
This 237 page book parses out RV insights and information in a stingy manner, pointing the reader to other publications by the same author. The Heartland Elkridge 5th Wheel Travel Trailer that we purchased was not even listed. The "Comparison Guide" is written in narrative form, with few comparison ratings to other similar products, just comparison of the same manufacturer other than rating the same product in different years ("Factory Rathing 100 Being a Perfect Score"). Why is there no similar product from different manufacturers comparison, like the book title leads you to expect? There is little help for the consumer new to RV's as to how best to actually choose and buy an RV (that "buying" part would apparently be addressed in another of the author's 5 RV books, "RV Buying Secrets"). So --- a $25 paperback book that is not all bad but is badly overpriced. ... show more
