I bought this for Intl travel so I can put the souvenirs I bought. It was light and compact. I checked it in and was able to withstand the flight travel. It was intact when it rolled down the baggage carousel. Lots of pocket, it has a sleeve so you can insert it in your suitcase for easier transport. Great value. My daughter borrowed it, she also checked it in and was intact when she collected it. So far that’s two flight travels already. Worth it.

This bag is great! My first time using it was for a quick trip to Colorado. It is lightweight and expands to a size that was more than enough for my weekend trip. My husband was surprised by how large it actually was once we opened it up. I could easily fit enough clothes and my toiletries for a trip lasting at least 1-2 weeks. As this bag folds up small, it does not have much structure. However, it is great for being able to fit it into smaller spaces such as the overhead bin on an airplane. There are several pockets which make packing easy, and the shoe compartment was super convenient for my dirty hiking shoes! The price is also hard to beat! My only small complaints are that the shoulder strap is not very comfortable if the bag is fuller, and the plastic clips holding the shoulder strap are a bit noisy/squeaky while walking or moving. However, I’ve been using the same duffel bag for 15+ years, so I knew I was going to be very picky buying a new one and so far this bag is meeting my expectations!

I have to preface this review with a disclaimer. I am a bag snob. I currently own a King Kong gym bag, previously owned the OG AER Duffel Pack. I travel with REI 40l Big Haul for short trips and use a Boundary Errant as my day to day backpack. I thought my daughter might like an alternative to her hard side suitcase so I purchased this duffel for her. My initial impression, I like bags that are collapsible. You can throw it in with your luggage if you need an extra bag for extras. The fact it folds into a potential messenger bag I’ll discuss later. Opening the bag, I noticed a scratch card like a weird scratch off ticket. Yeah I have no interest in that. The bag material felt thinner than I am used to, but my bags normally cost 3x this one, so that’s expected. The design on the material makes it feel reinforced though. The zippers (not YKK zippers) opened and closed smoothly. Even though the company says this is a travel duffel the zippers are NOT locking zippers. I was really impressed with the reinforced stitching at points were I can see it was necessary. Well thought out. At 55l the bag is spacious. The interior is tall, not long. The bag has 5 exterior pockets, 1 interior pocket and a compartment for shoes/dirty clothes. I was impressed with the size of the compartment. Keep in mind as you fill that up, you will lose room in the main compartment, but I appreciate the extra space. The company says the material is smell/water resistant but I have not tested that aspect. The hooks and eyelets for the shoulder strap are plastic, what you would expect for a $26 duffel. The fact that the bag folds into a “messenger” bag. What that means is the 4 exterior pockets are usable. There really is no main interior compartment because that is where the duffel is. Two of the external pockets are slightly expandable, but not spacious in any way. I truly struggle to see how this is a major selling point. Folding the duffel back into the messenger aspect does not require an origami degree, which I feared. Also, because this does fold into a messenger bag, when it is being used as a duffel, it leaves an awkward tab sticking out and I can just see that getting caught on things while traveling or the zipper getting damaged. Also because it folds into a messenger bag, they couldn’t put feet on the bottom of the duffel, so you hope the bottom doesn’t wear thin. In my opinion the fact that it folds into a messenger bag detracts from the bag. The quality is really good. Reinforced stitching, gliding zippers, large dirty clothes compartment...all of these things are positives. If you are purchasing the bag for the dual aspect, you might like it. Otherwise for me it’s 3 out of 5 stars. Edit: I talk it over with my daughter. She really likes the bag and has started to use it immediately. She thinks it is worthy of a 4 to 4.5 star review. Since I bought this for her, I'll edit my review.

Used this for 10 days of straight travel from 1 place to another, and so far, it has held up very well. It smelled a bit when I first got it, but it goes away pretty quick. This is carry-on size, so at one flight they actually ran out of overhead space when I was still in line to get my ticket scanned, but they let me take it into the overhead bins because it was still slightly smaller than a small suitcase which would have been checked with the heavy luggage that day. So overall, definitely much more space efficient, and if you want to travel without carry on, you can fold it up easily and put it into checked luggage, and then take it out for use when you are in another location. My bag contained at least 30 pounds of luggage for those 10 days, and showed no signs of breaking or anything. My only wish/complaint is that the carabiners on the side that clasps in the shoulder straps is made out of plastic and that feels less durable than metal so if you want this to last longer I would not trust constantly using the shoulder strap. Also your better off carrying this by hand cause when this thing is completely full and 30lb+ it does not feel good to use the shoulder strap to carry it on 1 shoulder.

I was traveling for 2 months, in the US and then the Philippines, and I had to pack everything I was taking into this and one backpack. It fit everything, and all of the compartments on the outside were so incredibly helpful to fit even more than I thought possible. It doesn't feel super thick or sturdy BUT it didn't rip or break in anyway in my travels, so it is decent quality and for the price, it's incredible. It met all of my needs and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a large duffel that could pass as a carry-on. I ended up checking the bag on my flights for once reason only, and that is that, yes, it fits a lot BUT that makes it extremely heavy and bulky. I'm only 5' 3" and I was killing my back just carrying it into an airport, so I wouldn't have been able to carry it far. I wish it had wheels or something! But I've also traveled with it not quite so full and it was easier to carry when it wasn't so heavy. Overall, if you're in a pinch and need a big duffel quickly and for cheap, this is definitely the way to go.
