I chose this over the “toy” hair models because I figured it would have more hair and more options for her to try out. She enjoys playing with it, and so do her friends. It’s easy to brush out, so colorful, and the perfect length and thickness. I wouldn’t say the hair is super realistic, but it’s not plastic-ish like cheap Halloween wigs. It’s a decent quality and very usable for practicing on hair! No smell either, so that’s a bonus. The clamp that comes with it isn’t the most sturdy, but it gets the job done. This mannequin has thick, beautiful, soft, synthetic hair. I tugged on the hair and it does not come out. This mannequin has proportional features compared to a human head. It’s skin is rubber not plastic like my school one which I actually prefer. This is SYNTHETIC hair which is important to remember because it cannot be used with high temperature curling iron, straightener and also cannot be chemically treated. This Mannequin does well with practicing cutting, rolling perms rods, sectioning, braiding and used with clippers. For most state exams in barbering especially Master barber, you’ll need two mannequins. This one will serve its purpose at a fraction of the cost.
