We got this to put under the Christmas tree just for fun, even though we're retired and don't have kids. It has a surprising number of fun features like a light in the front, a whistle (that can be muted), and steam that comes out of the smoke stack and from under the engine when it stops. They put a lot of thought into it. The remote is a little hard to use, since it's not always clear whether it is on or off, but it works. The track is easy to setup and keep together. This train is legit. The horn is not too loud, the steamer is very exciting. The ONLY issue we ran into was the assembly. You definitely have to follow instructions. Hours of fun so far!

The media could not be loaded. I ordered this for my 3yo as a Christmas present. He loves trains and was super excited when he opened this as a present. Firstly, this train set was very easy and straightforward to assemble with clear instructions as well. Although I wasn't a fan of this being all plastic, most items made these days are. For It's overall quality, detail and features, It's pretty much right on point with it's price point. It's makes realistic train whistle noises and it even pushes smoke out of the smoke stack. Older model retro trains back when I was growing up required a special oil for the smoke. However, this train set only requires water, which is another bonus, in my opinion. Keep in mind, that the coal car houses the rechargable battery, which provides the power to the locomotive itself, which is another nice bonus of this train set. Make sure that you plug in the coal car first to start charging up the battery before you start building out the track. My battery took 90mins to charge up. According to the manual, a fully charged battery should provide up to 2 hours of continuous use. The rechargable batteries are non-removeable, not a bad thing, just thought I would throw that in there to help set the right expectation. Also, the remote uses 2 AA batteries ,which are not included. So make sure you have some available. I also posted up a video along with my review to help you better understand what to expect and some tips to help deal with potential pitfalls and how to overcome them, should any arise, if you don't know what to look for. It was easy to assemble. Seemed more on the cheap side. Not very durable for the toddlers. They destroyed it within minutes

    • Very nice and functional train set for children of all ages.
Super cool train set any kid is sure to love. It comes with all of the pieces you need to create the track and the trains as well. The set makes sounds and has lights which makes it even better. I would highly recommend. I also love the fact that it can be controlled by remote, very nice touch.

Likes— The train itself is super nice looking! The track was easy to assemble. The box it came in is relatively sturdy, so we can use it to store after the holidays. Dislikes— The remote can be fickle, you just have to be patient. It’s not the end of the world & with some light coaching my 3 y/o is able to use the remote.
