If you look at the photo of the underside of this support block in the Amazon advertisement, you'll notice that the only support directly to the ground in the center of the block is from the center hole. In our case, using a round foot plate for the trailer jack, all block support to the ground is provided laterally through the block, as the weight of the trailer is outside the asterisk-shaped center support post and inside the edges of the block. While the strength of the block is sufficient for our relatively lightweight trailer, I'd be concerned about its suitability for a heavier trailer and/or as the plastic deteriorates from exposure to the elements and sun over time. I will certainly be monitoring the block for evidence of cracking or other potential structural failure as I continue to use it. Other than this evident design flaw, the block is relatively lightweight, easy to use, and probably adequate for lighter-weight trailers or those using a jack footplate that contacts the portions of the block that run completely from foot plate to ground.
