If you are replacing an existing switch installation is simple. If installing brakes for the first time you will have to wire through the brakes and trailer's battery, a bigger job. The only fault I found is the caribeaner provided for connection of the coil cord to the truck is way too small to hook to the hitch of the truck. I used a larger one that I provided myself. The coiled cord is a big improvment over a straight cable.
