Game changer for my pup with separation anxiety

I have a VERY anxious mastiff mix rescue pup. We don’t know much about his background but he was definitely abused and suffers from bad anxiety and separation anxiety. We’ve tried EVERYTHING to help with his separation anxiety when we have to go to work; thundershirts, music, toys, etc. After talking to his vet and dog trainers, we figured we’d try a crate cover to try and help keep him gone when we’re not at home. Before he would chew and dig his crate resulting in the bottom pan getting shredded and the door is severely bent. As soon as i put the crate cover on, it was an instant change. He was a bit hesitant at first because it’s new, but he LOVES it. He’s so much calmer and more relaxed. The cover makes it darker and more enclosed like a den so he feels a lot safer. The cover itself is great quality! It’s easy super easy to install and fits great so my pup can’t get the corners and chew them. The material is waterproof (and drool proof) so it’s easy to just wipe down when needed. Definitely recommend this cover! Especially if you have an anxious pup!

Make sure your hairy pal can’t pull it into their crate

I accidentally ordered one size too large of a cover for the crate I have, which is off by a few inches on either side. That’s my fault. The baggy walls seem to have lent themselves to being easily snagged through the wires by my pup. After a couple nights, the sides are intact and in decent shape, but the top zippered hole for carrying handle access didn’t fare well. I figured I’d leave it unzipped so a little light can get in for her. She took it as a challenge and absolutely destroyed the zipper path, rendering it non-functional. I’m glad she didn’t get enough of it to be a choking hazard, but I was still really bummed to see that a feature of the product was now unusable. Most of this was probably my fault, and I guess the moral of the story is “measure twice.” You’ll probably have a much better time than me if you buy a snug cover.

Works well

This works well for my dogs that get triggered by newcomers. I feel it gives them quiet space. The only downside is that it keeps the warmth in. So it is easy to over heat in the kennel. You can use the flap on the front for some ventilation but then it defeats the no visual aspect. Plus I don't think the vent is big enough to really cool down the inside. Don't use completely zipped shut if it is hot where ever you have the kennel. Otherwise I am very happy with it and it is very easy to use.

Almost perfect

Love this cover and love the fact that it has zippers all over for the sides. I just wish it had an actual window on top. What's there is more of a slit which doesn't really allow for much airflow. I ended up shoving a small personal fan into the slit because I was worried about my pup. It does have a front window, but at the time my guy needed to be completely covered. In hindsight I should have gotten Obsidian back which looks like it has a large flap on top. Now I have most of the flaps open which is great that this is an option with this cover rather then having to get another one. Overall pleased. Fit perfectly on my 42' wire crate.

Really nice crate cover

I was pleasantly surprised how nice this is. It’s sturdy, waterproof, thick and very easy to clean. the snaps and zippers are tough and won’t fray over time. It was easy to put together and is very stable on the crate and doesn’t slide around.

My dog Loves it!

I've used crates for my pups for years and never needed a cover but my most recent pup needs her privacy and rest time otherwise she is very cranky! I board dogs often and bought one of these specifically for my girl so that she's not distracted by other dogs walking around the kennel and can get her private time and rest properly when she naps. It's the best thing! She loves it, I like how it looks with the furniture in the house too. The specific color I got has velcro and it works just fine. If I get another I'll probably buy the black one with zippers because I think she'd love the darkness. Hey, every dog is different so if your dog needs that xtra privacy & can't settle when there's too much going on around them this is a great deal. I also want to say the material is great, I can tell it's going to be real easy to clean when it's time or if something spills on it.

I have an XL crate (42X27X30) from WM. It fits well even though it is an inch bigger than me crate. It was really easy to put on. I like the little mesh window on the side. And the zippers seem like they’re good quality too. I’d give it a 10/10

Originally hung a sheet over dog crate first few days. After doing some research, needed this. The sheet made crate too warm and also allowed light. This is much more breathable and provides the darkness in which he sleeps way longer !
