This is my first smart phone. Been using Verizon flip phones since 2005, and the 'using' part of that is a misnomer, as I really only had the phone for emergency use. I had a Tracfone before going to Verizon, and loved paying only $7 per month at the time So, with the goal of lowering my phone bill now that I am looking at retirement, the basic $15 per month phone fees is extremely attractive for me. The A03S phone I purchased is one I had done a bit of research on, and it just 'clicked' with me for what I wanted to use. It will do most of what the high end phones do, not that I need that. The fact it is a brand new phone in the original box came as a very pleasant shock, as I had expected a used phone. Along with recommending this phone to other users, I suggest also getting a memory card for it. It upgraded from version 11 to version 13 easily so I am not left behind in the updates.. ... show more

I bought this mainly to hook up to Android Auto without a cable. It works fine and we can listen to music and navigate. We're a couple senior citizens who hate to spend a lot of money on something that breaks so easily. I don't know why they make these phones so big now. They're hard to fit in your pocket anymore.     • AVOID - Tracfone as a business is non-functional! Can't buy a plan!
The phone itself seems as you'd expect for a $55 price tag. HOWEVER.... In order to activate the phone and get a number you need to pay for one of their no-contract payment plans. The problem then becomes that you cannot actually purchase a plan. The website itself is non-functional and extremely flaky. The website refuses to function in Firefox....ok so I tried a Chromium browser. Ran into issues with a "promo code" for the $5 off coupon of auto-renew. Ok, no auto-renew, "Choose Payment Plan" button will never become available and is permanently greyed out. Trying to troubleshoot the issue you then run into a message of "We cannot process your transaction at this time. Please contact customer support by CALLING 1-800-I-don't-have-a-phone." Ok, no phone, can't call customer support, so let's try looking for a live-chat or email under "Contact Us" or "Customer Support". Nope, no way whatsoever for you to contact their customer support department over this issue. Their "Live Chat" section even talks about their available times.....with ZERO link to said "Live Chat" functionality. I guess they removed that pathway but forgot to remove their text blurb about it under "Contact Us"???? Anyways, asking new customers to CALL when most people do not have Land-Lines or an additional phone to activate said new phone with is absurd. Tracfone's business is apparently completely non-functional and burning (or already burned?). AVOID THIS PRODUCT, find someone else! ... show more

Bought it because of Samsung's long support/fix policy. Battery life is disappointing. Riddled with junk bloatware apps, some of which can't be deleted. Sync software provided easy migration from old phone, but is horribly documented. Easy to drop because it is slippery. (Bought case to protect it, which provides good grip.) Significant: Too many differences between various A03s models and it is very hard to tell what features you are getting. Turns out some have NFC and some don't. Good luck figuring it out. Suggest considering budget Motorola instead. Tracfone: Activation did not completely take. Phone works fine, but Tracfone still thinks I'm using my old phone. I've tried to work with Tracfone support, to no avail. FWIW, I think Tracfone customer service and support apps have significantly declined since Verizon bought them. I used to recommend Tracfone, but can't recommend now. ... show more

I use these cheaper phones for my children as a better option than tablets. They are cheaper and are easier for the kids to store. My kids have had phone and it is still in the best of shape. The storage is adequate, and the battery holds up to the kids playing while on long road trips. The sound quality is great while watching YouTube, or talking on their apps. ... show more
