  • Good phone, good price
Style: Phone Only
I just needed a new phone. My old one was shattered, and deactivated like two years ago, but now that I'm going to college, I figure it's probably time for a new one. This phone looks very nice and sleek. It has fingerprint ID, which is exactly what I was looking for. It also has face ID if you're into that, not really my thing, but it's an option. I seen some people complaining about WiFi connection, but I haven't had an issue with it. It connected to my wifi right away, and it hasn't dropped signal at all. It even shows how fast the internet speed is, which my old phone didn't do, so that's pretty neat. I thought set up was pretty easy, as is with most phones. You can just copy all your apps and stuff over from an old phone, or choose to start fresh. I'm not entirely sure about the battery life. I think it's alright, but I like to keep my brightness very low, since it hurts my eyes most of the time, so if you have it at full brightness, it may drain faster, and may be a problem, but I think it's fine right now. I'll also say, the camera quality is really good. At least way better than my old phone's cam quality, which is really nice. The only thing I didn't like about this was that when I ordered it, it didn't give me a date for it's arrival for the first few days, so I was a little anxious. But, then they emailed us the date, and it ended up coming early, so it was all alright. All in all, this is a good phone that won't break budget. Recommended :) ... show more

  • Moto G play 2024.
Style: Phone Only
This is probably one of the best lower tier midrange phones that you could buy and for the money, almost untouchable. It could have more memory, but at least it is expandable. It’s not the brightest screen, but it looks good and comfortable on the eyes and it’s beyond a 60 hz refresh rate so a little light gaming is even nice. Feels great in the hand. The bales aren’t horrible even though it has a single camera with a little patience you can get pretty good photos and stereo sound at this price range. That is actually pretty good sound quality is amazing. I would say molar roller doesn’t quite get the credit it should. The side fingerprint reader. It’s pretty accurate. Not blazing fast, but it does the job. And one thing I do love far as connectivity still having a headphone jack is really nice. Bluetooth has been working fine on it. And was able to do wireless screen, casting. Battery life has been good and as a bonus even has a connection to ChatGPT. ... show more

  • Really good, solid phone for an incredible price
Style: Phone Only
I got this phone as a back-up phone, and it works great! Everything I do on my main phone (Google Pixel) I can do on this phone. The battery life is good, and using the internet is speedy. 4GB RAM and 64GB memory; you can use a microSD to add up to 1Tb of memory. I don't do anything sophisticated with my camera, but this phone takes good, clear pictures, and I feel that the colors are more accurate than my Google Pixel and my daughter's Iphone. It just shows you that you don't need to spend a lot of money for a good phone. We've really been suckered into thinking we need expensive phones. Not true! ... show more

  • Not Bad, but A Bit Laggy
Style: Phone Only
I am writing this as someone who doesn't own a cellphone in the usual sense. I owned the HP iPAQ long before "smart phones" where ever though of. Basically, that was a smartphone without the phone. To this day, that is the ONLY reason I own a cellphone - as a pocket computer. I do not activate them, nor do I use them as a phone, so I cannot comment on those aspects. I also disable/uninstall every single google/tracking app/"feature" so I cannot comment on those. I CAN discuss this as a computer, though. As a pocket computer, this is fine. It's not great, but that is only because it comes SO loaded with tracking and google-tied services, some of which cannot be disabled. The battery life seems pretty good. The screen is nice and large. I'd prefer it if it were a LITTLE bit wider, but... The camera is much better quality than my old phone. One thing I DO notice, though, is that there seems to be a lag, especially when processing animations. For instance, playing solitaire, there is a slight lag in clicking the deck and the cards turning over. The final animation, where the cards fly around after you win, glitches and lags a bit, there, too. I don't know if my disabling half the phone has anything to do with that, but I wouldn't think so. Speaking of solitaire... the narrow screen aspect makes that pretty hard to see. Unless you play a game that allows rotating the screen.. better put those peeper on! For the price, though, if all you want is a basic, get you by cellphone, especially of you just want to use it as a computer, you could do worse... ... show more

  • Decent phone Great Price.
Style: Phone Only
Purchased this phone knowing that it is is locked and because of the price. I had no intent on activating with trace phone as this phone was intended to be added to our app as security camera so it does not require service only WiFi and for our purpose it works as intended. I believe there was a E-SIM included in the box to activate with Trace Phone service and the Trace phone app keep trying to remind me to activate the service. The Motorola G Play is a decent quality budget phone with average battery life. Motorola has been around long enough that the hardware is of good quality with no issues to expect for WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Camera is also middle of the road and I never have great expectations from a budget device. The G Play phone is not great on performance however when it comes to compute power and I can only recommend that if you have a few extra bucks ans set on Motorola to get the G-Power or Edge instead as they have a much better processor and don't lag as much with some operations. ... show more
