  • Fun Project
Model: Deluxe
I bought this out of curiosity, and it turned out to be a fun build! Took me a few hours, but the result was worth it. Now it sits proudly on my desk.

  • Poor quality control
Model: Standard
It looks ok, keep in mind this is 3D printed. So it’s all plastic, not metal. The pictures and video by the seller look better than the real product. Unfortunately the one I received didn’t work properly. The fan blades rubbed against the fan case, so they were not rotating smoothly and made horrible clicking noise. Also, not all rotors rotate. It appeared seller didn’t check the assembled product before shipping. Disappointed. ... show more

  • Not too bad.
Model: Deluxe
Nice looking model. Doesn’t make a very good connection on the base. Kind of noisy too.

  • Well built and smooth operation
Model: Deluxe
This was shipped fast and within several boxes to make sure it was shipped safe and sound. it was able to come in one piece. The model works as it should with two double AA batteries. the only down side is that it does not come with instructions on how to assemble case.

  • Unique conversation piece, definitely not an educational tool
Model: Deluxe
If all you want is a nice looking conversation piece at this price point, you'll be happy with the fine details of the Fan, Compressor and Turbine blades. The 3D print quality is very smooth as well. A true TurboFan should have... 1. Front fan connected to clockwise rotating LP (low pressure) 8s compressor and 6s turbine. This model is missing the LP compressor completely, only has a 4s turbine and rotates the wrong direction. 2. A 6s HP (high pressure) compressor and 1s turbine rotating counterclockwise. This model has a 5s compressor but rotates the correct direction. Because the LP compressor is completely missing and the the LP and HP assemblies rotate the same direction, this can't possibly be used as an educational tool (except to explain what is wrong with the model). Friction makes both assemblies spin together, but I was able to touch the HP blades to verify LP and HP assemblies are on separate spools. The case seems to have good intentions, but the bottom sags and is a lot of work to open/close to turn on electric motor to demonstrate rotating assemblies. I've seen other models that accurately demonstrate TurboFan technology for a slighly higher price point. As I mentioned at the beginning, it's a beautiful conversation piece. ... show more
