  • Great buds *for the money*, especially for gamers
07/03/2023 UPDATE: I still think it is tough to beat these buds at this price point. However, having spent a little more time with them I did want to share further insight: * I have only tested them with one (less than 2 year old flagship) phone, but the sound quality for the other party is unacceptable using these. I literally have to swap over to handset or speakerphone mode. I have not had similar problems with any other bluetooth product and this phone (including multiple other Tozo products). * These only have a bit more exaggerated bass response than the NC2. The difference in overall sound quality means you should not choose these over the NC2 for the bass, the only reason to go with the G1 is price or gaming latency (again, I did not really test latency). If latency is really important to you, these might be a good choice (but I assume there are better ones). In other cases, unless the extra 10-20 bucks is genuinely too much of a stretch for you, my recommendation is the NC2. --------------------------------------------------------------------- ORIGINAL REVIEW: I do not do a ton of gaming on modern consoles, so most of the latency issues I have are with watching videos. Usually this is negligible or at least tolerable, though occasionally it is bad enough I can't stand watching any longer. The difference I've noted thus far in gaming mode was fairly minimal with watching videos (have not tested w gaming). I do recommend Tozo earbuds, and this would be a good set depending on your needs. If you use earbuds for a lot of gaming (or watching videos in lower-noise environments), then the G1 is probably for you. This is especially true if you like the the green LED look. It's unclear how this affects battery life - if there's a significant impact I would not waste the energy for videos alone. If your needs are more mixed-use, especially if you are frequently using earbuds in environments with constant mid-level noise, I prefer the NC2 for only ten bucks more. The active noise cancellation on those is great for public transit etc. I would call sound quality comparable, leaning slightly in favor of the NC2. The G1 seems to try for heavier bass that will be difficult to reproduce with any device that fits in your ear, but the overall audio quality seems slightly diminished. Still, the quality is better than a name-brand set I have that was nearly double the price. ... show more

  • Make sure you turn game mode on!
Color: Dark Black
I was looking for something that would be very low latency so that I could watch TV in sync with my speakers. At first, this had a pretty big lag, and I was about to return them, but then I read the instructions (hah!) and found that they have a game mode that you turn on by tapping the right earbud three times. Perfect! they are now almost exactly in sync with my speakers. The sound is completely acceptable for watching TV. The bass is fine, and they are quite clear in the vocal range. For additional context, what I was hoping to find was a set of earbuds that used the APTX:LL (Low Latency) protocol. I have a set of over-the-ear headphones that use APTX:LL and the delay is imperceptible. After not finding any earbuds at any price, I decided to try a "gaming" set that advertised low latency. As I said above, in the default setting, these are not impressive and didn't do what I wanted - but once I turned on gaming mode, the latency was so small it was imperceptible - significantly less than a 10th of a second according to a youtube video that I use to help check latency. So, now I have both headphones and earbuds that I can use to listen along with the speakers with no lag. ... show more

  • Quality control failure
I have been a fan of tozo ever since I bought their T6 more than a year ago. It was by far the best, affordable earbuds on the market. Owing to the great experience I had with their product then, I decided to grab the G1 to keep as a backup. It came nicely packaged, as expected of Tozo, with the usual knickknacks and a very nice USB type C cable. Everything was off to a great start, however, I started noticing problems shortly after. I removed the earbuds from the box and placed them in the case which I then plugged into my laptop to charge. I left them there for about 30 minutes before I removed them from the case and that was when I noticed that the right earbud's led light was not flashing. I chalked it up to first use jitters but when it refused to turn on after I placed it back into the case and removed it, I realized that it might be a more serious issue. I placed both back into the case and left them for an hour this time and when I removed them both lights were flashing. I assumed this would have been the end of the issue but after about 1 hour of use, the right earbud started giving the 'battery low' warning and it shut off several minutes later while the left one continued to go strong for another two to three hours. I hoped that the issue would be rectified after several uses but it still persists to this day. For me, this is a blight on Tozo's brand. I would normally sing praises for their products and have recommended them to many friends and family but now I may have to reconsider. I still love the T6 but my experience was the G1 leaves much to be desired. ... show more

  • Great Quality Earbuds and Great Customer Service
The overall quality of the headphones are really nice. The audio has a nice bass to it and is really clear. The headset is easy to manage when it comes to pausing, turning off/resetting them and are also a comfortable fit, at least in my ear with the right interchangeable ear tips that come with it. Tozo earbuds are a really great ear bud at an affordable price compared to Air Pods or the Samsung ones. I have bought a few other Tozo branded earbuds and they work amazing as well. The unfortunate thing that happened is I needed to buy another pair since the first pair, one of the ear buds doesn't charge unless I maneuver it to charge and also maneuver it to turn on as well. The 2nd one however had an issue as well with the right ear bud suddenly turning off after a few seconds causing the other one going into pairing again but just to fail and thene eventually reconnect. I reached out to customer service via email and they helped me immensely trying to trouble shoot or fix it by resetting them. Unfortunately nothing worked and they ended up sending me a new pair and they responded in a timely manner. ... show more
