Years ago, I purchase a terry cloth robe for a "Polar Express" train ride with the grandchildren in Sacramento, Ca. This robe soon became my favorite and even became my "office attire" while working from home during the epidemic. Those same grandchildren are now grown, in college, and the robe has seen better days. A few days ago, a "victim" arrived on our doorstep, wet, dirty, and barely clothed. She had escaped from her pursuers by traveling through the stream in front of our house. While I called for the Sheriff, my wife tended her wounds and help her to clean up. Since the little clothing she had on was wet and muddy, my wife decided this was a good opportunity to rid the house of my now aging terry cloth robe. How could I object? Wanting to replace my now missing robe, I began a search for a cotton terry cloth replacement for the durability, weight, and warmth. After analysing different items, I chose this 100% cotton "Terry Cloth Luxury Spa Bathrobe". It came double bagged in a plastic shipping bag and arrived safely. I am pleasantly pleased with the hand of the fabric and the luxury feel when wearing it. The long length makes it warmer on colder days. I am 5'9" and 215#. It is large enough to feel fully wrapped around. All I can say is, so long old robe. You have been replaced and won't be missed! I ordered this larger than I needed because so many items tend to be smaller than you expect these days. But wow! I didn't need to. It's warm, roomy, and long enough to cover me quite comfortably. The first time I ordered this I went by the sizing chart they offer and I got a large which ended up being too small especially after wash. I returned the product and got an extra large which after washing came out just right. I like the robe because it is made of thick soft heavy material it feels nice. Very absorbent terry cloth robe. This is more a summer weight robe, great for putting on after a swim. If you are looking for a warm robe this is not the one. I've always had terry cloth robes. I like them, they're cheap, they do the trick. But this time I decided to go for something different. And I'm glad I did! I know it says "TowelSelections" in the name of this robe. But this is not the average terry robe. I was thinking just heavier terry cloth, but what I got was best described as luxuriant. As I pulled it out of bag it was shipped in I was surprised by the rich feeling of the fabric. I'm 6'2" 225 and I went for the XL initially but XL was a little tight through the shoulders. So I went for the XXL and it was perfect. If you check the size chart you'll notice there's not that much difference between the two. Getting back to the fabric. That great feel is still there on the inside of the robe, but they have the usual absorbent terry interior. The collar has a lot of body and deals well with our cool and sometimes down-right cold Michigan nights. The robe comes with an ample tie. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this robe to anyone. The only thing you have to consider is, this may not be suitable for very warm climates. ... show more
