Because I’m a good husband, I bought a new saddle pad for Christmas as a gift for the wife. Loving Wife didn’t like the Tough1 because it wasn’t as high “quality” as her preferred name brand. Her desired pad was also much more expensive. She was very upset that I didn’t get her the one she wanted, and also upset that she was being ungrateful. Especially since she knows I don’t like giving gifts, for the exact reason of getting something that wasn’t what other really wanted. Holidays are a very emotional time, something else I don’t like dealing with. Being a good husband, I didn’t argue that I had spend hours flipping between all pad that matched what she wanted. No, I decided to return this one and buy the name brand she wanted. Because I’m a good husband, and want her to be happy. The preferred brand pad arrived before I was able to package this one up to return. The pad she wanted had pleather, and not real leather like the Tough1. It was labeled contoured, but was about as contoured as a bath towel. The Tough1 was clearly shaped, maybe a little much but would conform better after use. The other pad was held to the blanket with a single seem down the middle, and didn’t actually have all that much padding. The Tough1 was very well stitched, with heavy padding. All things I knew already because I’m a good husband, and carefully compared both pads before purchasing Within 1 minute of seeing the pad the wife wanted, and was upset that I didn’t get, she decided the Tough1 pad I had gotten was the better quality of the two. Love the color. Needed a new saddle pad to go under my Bob Marshall Treeless saddle. This pad works and looks great on my wide backed QH mare. It's a bit too long to use on our son's Arab cross. Have not tried it our Belgian yet.
