These nuts are a slightly smaller outer diameter than the nuts that came on our grinders, but the threads match so they work fine. Heck, these tools are so old we don't even know if the larger diameter nuts are original or not. All that matters is these new nuts fit.

These are what your looking for when it comes too Grinder Flanges, I have been welding for 30 + years and have seen alot of these, the first thing you want to make sure there made out of the dark steel that usually means that they have been made from hardened steel and should last you a very long time just don't tell your Co Workers you have them or they will grow legs and fast. You will have no problems with this set of grinder flanges they came well oiled so there was no rust they went on and off easily on my Porter Cable grinder the wrench you really don't need unless your grinder doesn't have a locking spindle on your grinder which is very rare these days so just throw the wrench in your tool box for just in case. What you don't want in a grinder flange is when they look that silver color that means there made out of that cheap galvahized garbage that will crack or the threads will strip out and your grinding wheel will go flying so stay away from any that are silver in color. I'm happy with this set and think there a really good set of grinder flanges would recommend them at least you know there going to last and you will be safe from them breaking but like i said if your going to use them at work don't tell your Co Workers because this is one item that people just kind of forget you need to beable to run your grinder and you usually only get one set when you buy a new grinder. It's kind of funny that if you look around your work or shop you won't find any of these just laying around because through all my years of welding and it don't matter what shop it is these grinder flanges do grow legs and your Boss just kind of forgets to buy any. Hope this review might help a few people that are new to running grinders but if you want go ahead and get those silver ones for $6,99 and I wish you luck. Thanks For Reading ... show more

We've all been there: It's time to switch from a wire cup to a grinding wheel and I cannot locate the nut or spanner. This set threaded smoothly onto the 5/8-11 spindle of my DeWalt D28110 angle grinder. As you can see in my photos, the backup washer has the milled flats that mate with the spindle flats on the grinder so that the whole assembly is always driven and cannot spin on the shaft during heavy work. As for the nut, just like OEM, it has two sides with different functions. For 1/4" disks, use the side with the flange. This will help support the thicker disks. For thinner disks, use the smooth (recessed) side. The wrench is sturdy enough to stand up to abuse - I really torqued on it and the lugs did not bend at all. The only difference I noted between these and my (missing) OEM is that the original had an O-ring seated in the groove of the backup washer. I did not notice any difference in operation in spite of this, so I still give it 5 stars. ... show more

I have a cordless, and corded Dewalt angle grinders. At some point I lost the threaded collars for one of them. These replacements fit perfectly and are well made.

Hubby lost his original flange for his Makita and this worked well. This is well made with good quality materials. The asking price on this was a good price. We would recommend this replacement flange.
