I purchased this specifically for a spring trip to Europe, when the weather can be unpredictable, as I wanted something super lightweight and compact enough to fit in my travel purse without weighing it down. Overall, a very solid purchase. Size-wise, it was perfect - super compact and very light. I don’t love manual umbrellas, preferring those with auto open at the push of a button, but since even the smallest of the latter style was bigger than I wanted to carry with me on my trip, manual it was. The opening/closing manually was smooth, the umbrella itself was quite sturdy despite its small size, and I like that it dried quickly and came with a cover/case that you could slip it back into without getting the rest of the stuff in your purse wet after use. The only downside for me was that the coverage area was small, but that’s to be expected when you buy an umbrella specifically for its small travel size. It was fine for me, but my husband and I couldn’t use it together when we got caught in the rain once on the trip. ... show more

I bought this to keep in my purse just in case. It fits perfectly into my small Editor bag and my medium every day bag. I would have not even noticed it was there if I wasn’t looking. The case has a little handle which is nice to grab it out of my bag. Now… don’t expect a full-size umbrella at all. It’s more of an emergency umbrella if you don’t have your big one with you. As a family member commented when she saw me with this umbrella attached to my purse, "That's the PERFECT New York City umbrella!". She's right. We have WICKED rain squalls in NYC that come up with no warning. The wind is sudden and tough and the rain pummels you. This is a small but mighty umbrella which is easy to carry around my wrist or attach to my small shoulder strap bag. I commute 3hrs everyday to work, I don't want to carry a large umbrella because it "might" rain. So I carry this one. It's relatively light weight, very small and compact and dries really fast. One thing to point out is that the little baggie you store it in has a really nice handle that helps with shoving the umbrella back in (easily). It's still your typical purse umbrella since it's so small but it is definitely good enough for those days where it "might" rain and you really don't want to get caught in the rain. ... show more
