I got the Large size in Black so it would not be noticeable since my purse is black. I carry a large wallet in the center open area and a mini clipboard. I regularly carry my sunglasses case, 30oz cup, full size Bath and Body Lotion, business cards, chargers, gum, kleenex, wipes, pens, medicine and anything else my family decides to toss into my bag. Unless you pack it full, it will collapse on itself. I rigged the bottom with cardboard to keep it in the bottom of my purse, but it's hard to get stuff in and out unless it's full. Works perfectly to keep my flimsy tote bag from collapsing. The pockets do not have openings at the bottom except for the water bottle holder which has elastic band. This keeps small items organized inside the pockets.

purchased this for my LLBean Boat & Tote (size Large) and It's great. unfortunately sunscreen exploded all over the insert, which although a bummer, the fabric is so thick and durable that my tote bag was saved. Even after a wash, the stain didn't come out so i bought the larger size which is actually better compatible for the llbean bag. Great value for the money and I like the size but the bigger one is better for my specific tote bag. The water bottle holder is my favorite part.
