The middle section is removable for when I want to use it for my laptop but has velcro on each side when I need it to stay put. The sections vary in size as well as having outer pockets and a large zippered pocket on the inside. It not only keeps my lighter items from being discolored but also keeps me more organized than a regular size purse.
