    • It's been over 8 months and (honestly!) it's like new
I don't like to review things too quickly, because you never know how things will go. But this case has been absolutely excellent. Here are the things I'm impressed about: - It looks like new. Seriously. I would include a picture but... that would involve getting a friend to snap a shot or using a camera, and I'm just not that motivated. - It doesn't accumulate grease, smudges, fingerprints, etc. That's one of those "looks like new" things -- yes, I can see smudges if I hold it at just the right angle and look really hard, but at a glance it doesn't have that "grungy fingers all over it" look that some devices get despite my best personal hygiene. - I don't drop my phone very often, but the few times that I have... there were NO issues. No cracks, no reboots, no problems. - The FIT of this case was perfect when I first put it on and it's still perfect. My phone always feels secure and I'm constantly pulling it in and out of my pocket. Very snug and sleek. The slim profile was always a big deal to me. The phone is already big enough, and as a woman I don't want something bulky in my pocket. And yet, I refuse to leave my phone unprotected. So the Torras case is perfect. - The magnet is EXCELLENT. I've used it in my car and on my charging stand and on a metal stand in my kitchen. It snaps right on and does a great job. Charging isn't interrupted. It's secure. - THE RING STAND. The fold-out ring stand does not swivel. My last case had a 360-degree swivel, which I loved, and I really thought I would miss that. BUT IT'S ALL GOOD. Whether I'm propping it vertically or horizontally, the flip-out ring works just fine. And when I'm sight-seeing or hiking and want the ring out for extra security as I take photos in situations where I really don't want to risk dropping my phone -- the ring keeps it plenty secure in my hand. It's been 8+ months and the ring is still sturdy and doesn't "droop", "slide", or "sag" when I use it to prop up the phone on a table. - The camera lens rim. Okay, so, I'm a shutterbug when traveling and a toy photographer. It's IMPORTANT to me that the camera lens is protected. I've had cases that actually have a cover that you slide across to protect the camera when not in use. However... over time I've discovered that if I responsibly use the phone, then a little 1+ mm lip around the lens is plenty to protect the lens from common scratches and such. And the Torras case has kept my camera lens protected all this time and I expect it will continue to do the job. I have ZERO SCRATCHES. - The charging and microphone (?) slots at the phone base: Everything functions just fine. The case doesn't get in the way and I've never had any issues with those areas. CONCLUSION: This is a solid, reliable case that I would totally buy again. In fact, the reason I purchased it was because I loved the Torras case I got for my Samsung S21 in 2021. So far as I'm concerned, if Torras keeps up the good work, then I'll keep buying their cases! ... show more

    • Amazing performance, all-in-one case to ditch your other accessories
First off, the shipping was lightning fast. I thought this was important to mention because at the time of writing this, the pixel 8 pro was just announced a few days prior to my purchase. Torras was ready for this drop, which is reassuring that they maybe worked with Google for a perfect fit. I don't know yet, 3 more days til I get my pixel 8 pro! It's sleek, thin but sturdy, and most of all VERY functional. I was worried the O stand was going to be too uncomfortable to use as a grip. It is actually perfect for how I hold the phone (I have small hands and grip by the bottom of course, for the keyboard. I can comfortably fit two fingers through the ring. The edges are soft matte plastic, like the case. Hinge is metal and has just the right resistance so you can use your phone at any angle (vertically anyway). There is less adjustability using the stand horizontal -- not exactly zero but due to the O shape, moving the stand outward actually make a small difference (measured 75 degrees peak and 60 degrees lowest). My favorite part though is that the magnet is actually a magnet and not just metal. It sticks to my fridge!! It's not strong enough to hold my old case by the metal insert, so it won't affect your phone. Yet it's a very strong secure grip on my fridge, I even hear a click from it tugging at the stand. They were smart to put the hinge at the bottom so it wouldn't flip the phone over. That said, I tried it upside down for fun (with my pixel 7 pro inside to add weight) and it seemed to hold upside down surprisingly well. Buttons are very clicky-- I like the click better than my old ringke fusion. It technically fits my pixel 7 pro Incase anyone needed to know -- my phone is completely inside and secure. But it is designed for the 8 Pro which is a hairs width smaller, and I'm guessing the volume buttons are moved as well due to how the case lines up. They have a case for the pixel 7 pro so I'm sure its great on the correct phone! But it's still really good on the wrong phone too! I'll update my review when my 8 pro gets here :) UPDATE: Got my pixel 8 pro and I absolutely love it on this phone! Yes, it's a perfect fit. The case does line up perfectly with the volume button which is more just a comment on the difference between the pixel 7 pro and pixel 8 pro. I did end up needing to buy another magnetic car mount because the magnetic area of my old mount was too small to hold this (it was about the size of a popsocket and the magnetic ring is probably about an inch larger in diameter). I bought the ohlpro mount and it holds onto this case like glue. Absolutely love it. Sort of a random comment but I had an old phone case that was ribbed hard plastic on all the edges. I always rest my pinky right under the charging port. To my surprise, the cutout edges were completely smooth and comfortable to do this on. Nice bonus! ... show more

This new Pixel 8 Pro case is simplicity at its best and wraps the phone in a dependable and well-engineered protective layer that's comfortable and easy to hold. It's not cheap, but it is one that is worth the money. It combines a rugged exterior with excellent internal cushioning to make one of the toughest cases on the market. The built-in kickstand works upright, too, making it perfect for last-minute video calls or watching movies. It doesn’t add a significant amount of bulk and weight to a phone. It uses MagSafe magnets integrated into the stand on the back to firmly attach a removable storage space for payment cards and a little cash. I feel this was a clever design because it allows you to have a stand, MagSafe options, and can still charge wirelessly. The extra-tall bezels are a nice touch, too, and help keep the front glass and camera from cracking. Overall, a very impressive case that’s well worth the money.
